turn out to be drug arguments or something else

Well, get back to me if this one turns out to be the case, and I'll catch, cook, and chill the crow I'll have for supper.

hang on I know you’;re new but you;re asking if 3 rounds is too many etc, do you know a woman hid in her house, in GA, the intruder came into the room where she was hiding and she fired 5 rounds into him, and he still made it.
3 rounds too much, hell no

and that was a few weeks ago, a few days ago an elderly couple had to fire a lot of rounds to a couple of intruders and the police said they did everything right and it was a good job that they had that many rounds to defend themselves

it;s why I have hollow point and I shoot for the head or heart.
one round to the head or heart with hollow will do the trick

But...To those folks saying things like "shoot til down and then as needed," please realize that while you can shoot a burglar, you are NOT going to get away with 'finishing him off.' They will pen you up for that.

The man breaking into your home Here's what a cop said he was told in the academy. If someone is coming at you & your life is in danger, you empty the gun.

CCDW instructor told me the same thing. "I was so scared I didn't even know how many times I fired, until I realized the gun was empty."

It's only in the fantasy world of TV and movies that selective shots are so well made. If you truly believe your life is in danger (what else can you assume if someone smashes in your door?) then doing anything less than shooting to kill is stupid and suicidal.

The man breaking into your home doesn't wear a sign saying "non violent burglar, just here to rob you" or "I am a rapist, but I won't kill you unless you resist".

Monday morning quarter backs (like the dipsh1t liberal neighbor) using their 20/20 hindsight and divining the intentions of the criminal after the fact, well screw them.

I don't know if he did or not. It won't go anywhere, even with Dewhurst (spit) in charge of the schedule.

As my lawyer once told me, if you ever pull your firearm on someone, never shoot to maim, always shoot to kill: estates settle for less, and dead men can't testify against you in court.

I thought that was good advice, specially coming from a lawyer.

I don’t how many FReepers who are commenting [unless they are combat military] have had the experience of drawing a firearm on someone intent on doing you harm.

Parenthetically, I have, in home defense. And every thing you have been taught/told races through your mind. It comes down to *him or me*. Confidence in your ability to hit your target b/c of practice and training, using a hollow point/12gu. and F’ the neighbors. And, I’d do it again, if necessary.

According to DHS, doesn’t the acceptable use of force in such circumstances involve scissors and/or urinating on yourself?

Yes, but that advice is only for liberals. Who are we to tell them differently?

Or like they teach at the FLETC two to the chest and one to the head will do the job very nicely. With HP, of course.

??

Nah, I’m not disagreeing with you on anything. Just stating my opinion that I like more facts before I congratulate the shooter - - which I am always happy to do in bona fide cases of bad people getting shot by good people.

FRegards,
LH

If the SHTF, anyone who observes nature should stop and think a minute. Without water, fuel, food [stored caches are not infinite] ...you’ll be just like the birds and squirrels and be spending 100% of your time foraging.

Heaven forbid you have to hold off invaders to your territory/space. I have the opportunity to live off grid and it’s full-time work to keep ahead of all the stuff there is to do during daylight hours.

I have often wondered how I would do. I know that I’m right in what I say should be done. I don’t know how well I would react in such an extreme situation.

Practice, train, and hope I measure up.

I believe that I would be less hesitant if my wife or daughter were vulnerable along with me. My family has to be safe, deal with the fallout later.

Well, I relived those moments hundreds of times and wouldn’t do anything differently.

Once you get past the brief moment of self-doubt....training and second nature kick in.

I’ll say a prayer for *us* tonight, so we may be spared having to do the deed, God’s will be done. :)

Who does that?

Meth heads, for starters.

And people who do home invasions or robberies in rural areas. Ponca City isn’t exactly a huge metro area. Total population of 25K, I’m sure there are plenty of properties around that area where there’s no point in going in the back door or window. No one is going to see you go in the front door, so intruders will do that.

Second reason: If it’s a mobile or fabricated home, many of those small structures don’t *have* a back way in.

Deadly force describes the TYPE of force, not the outcome.
