If those ‘terroists’ you mention are muslims, it does not matter which group rules which country. They all agree we are not them, therefore we are only fit to variously pay money, be converted, enslaved, or killed. Take your pick.

“Nothing a dozen or so neutron bombs won’t fix.”

Since China is the only nation with a working neutron bomb, we’d have to ask them. And then they’d just give us cheap knockoffs ...

Understand all your points, but what is happening in the ME right now with regards to Syria is unprecedented. We are fighting a covert war against a country that has WMD capability. In the past when you wanted to topple a country with WMD capabilities (Iraq) you establish air superiority through no fly zones. You assembly your armies. Get all the neighbors on your side. Install anti-missile batteries. Launch a campaign of shock and awe and when you go in, you go in with enough force to overwhelm the country before it can launch a WMD counter attack. That was all done in Iraq. And we even fought an earlier war against Saddam where we bombed all Saddam's WMD facilities. And that was done and the bombing was assessed years before the final GWB led war.

You never fight a covert war using terrorists as proxies and Islamic scumbags as weapons suppliers against a country that has WMD capabilities.

The Syrian Rebels recently used Chlorine gas against Syrian troops. So WMD's are out of the bag and many governments are gonna be falling.

There is a big question mark about who used gas on whom. My bet is that what we predicted months ago that zero's thug/terrorists aka freedom fighters are the ones who used the gas not Assads people. Assad would indeed have to be suicidal/brain dead to use gas now after sitting on it for decades. He of all people knows what happens if he uses gas.

You do exactly as zero has done if you want a high chance that Israel gets bombed with gas. And then you have plausible deny-ability when its all over.
These Chicago mob bastards are slick. Also it wouldn''t hurt your deny-ability to be seen making nice to the same Israelis you plan to gas only days before.

.....”...what is happening in the ME right now with regards to Syria is unprecedented...... Well, that never has certainly changed.....Might be the very reason the US and UN have not given the rebels the backup they wanted to begin with, or now, and the stated reason the Rebel Leader said he was resigning...which in Imo was sufficient enough to “gracefully” getting him out the way, and out of the country, for what is coming next.

There is much more to this than the fighting....Backdoor happenings among the nations involved, known and unknown, have plans we are not privy to, and for that do not make it easier to determine what's next.....

.... I don't believe for a moment Israel would have fired into Syria, nor the Rebel leader stepping down, or the report of Assad's death, and the request Iraq have a no fly over their country while “Assad’s assist” is in flight...without some truly bargaining going on behind closed doors and that on the highest levels across the board of the M.E. nations...and others

What that will now be remains to play out but we can be sure more is to come, and that without question.

Kinda like a Babelfish translation.

Russia is involved greatly in the happenings in the M.E.....Putty-Putt has been on the march pretty much quietly behind the scenes for a long while now. He does however hold his cards closely to his chest...unless he wants to make a show, as He recently did with the new Chinese leader. THAT was in the face of the US and any others thinking they can tangle with Russia.

I think Putin's looking much further than just a warm port...He is a man to be reckoned with and knows currently there isn't any to take him on. With Obama neutralized he's going to get as much of his own agenda done in these next couple years, and that in the face of the Us....because he can, unfortunately...and he'll strut it when it's to his advantage to do so.

Russia BTW is in business to move arms and whatever it can get it's hands on to other nations, including Syria....N.Korea and any others he can put in his back pocket....and He does.

I thought Carter gave the technology to the Israelis and they have about 200 of them in stock.

I'm not sure if Carter gave the Israelis the technology or if they worked most of it out on their own (they *are* pretty bright...), but they definitely did have Sam Cohen (credited with the initial design of the neutron bomb) over there consulting with them in the late '70s.

IIRC, he also helped the French complete and test their own neutron bomb.

Most nations that tinker with that particular weapon design tend to be very vague as to its existence or quantity. It is truly idiotic to have that arrow in your quiver, then willingly throw it away like Bush 41 did. Very foolish.

****or if they worked most of it out on their own****

Years ago it was said the Israelis and South Africans built them together.

Wow. I've had a family crisis and this is the first I've heard about this. Pretty serious stuff; I'll research it.
