Colorado Senator Recall

Recall Mike McLachlan

Official grievance against Mike McLachlan:

"Representative McLachlan campaigned as a defender of the 2nd Amendment.

Yet he said on the House floor “I believe there is no doubt that the overwhelming support of the people that were there were opposed to any restriction whatsoever…. No constitutional right, not even the 2nd Amendment is absolute.” He voted for these bills despite acknowledging overwhelming opposition to these bills from his constituency.

Representative McLachlan campaigned to be “a representative that carries Southwest Colorado’s common sense values to our State legislature."

Instead he introduced a 15 round magazine limit, an arbitrary number that is neither standard nor common on any production rifle and which infringes on the right of Coloradans to effectively defend themselves.

Representative McLachlan has betrayed the trust of his constituents, his oath to uphold the 2nd Amendment and the rights of gun owners by voting YES on gun control measures in both the Judiciary Committee and the House of representatives. He has blatantly refused to carry out the acknowledged desires of the overwhelming number of the very people he was elected to represent.

He has failed to represent the values and opinions of the citizens of the 59th District and should be recalled from service."

Timeline:

3/20/13 - Petition redelivered with necessary changes, awaiting certification.
3/5/13 - Petition delivered to Secretary of State for certification.

If we start targeting Hudak and others, the union money will flood in, and we’ll accomplish nothing.

While I agree that the battles must be chosen carefully Hudak is in a split district and has a good chance of going away. I don't think that all the money in the world will help McLachlan or Morse.

Hudak didn't help her cause any with the following either:

In 2013 during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on pending gun legislation Senator Hudak uncomfortably denigrated the testimony and feelings of a rape survivor, Amanda Collins, who was testifying about her attack, explaining that she had wished she would have had a firearm to defend herself from her rapist, and how she could have prevented the attack from occurring if she had been armed. Senator Hudak responded to Collins' testimony, calling her story “unsettling,” then went on to respond to Collins by stating without supporting numbers or statistics that “actually, statistics are not on your side, even if you had a gun you would have still been raped.” [8] [9] [10] Senator Hudak went on to say: “You said that you were a martial arts student, I mean person, experienced in taekwondo, and yet because this individual was so large, was able to overcome you even with your skills, and chances are that if you had had a gun, then he would have been able to get that from you and possibly use it against you.” Collins replied: “Respectfully senator, you weren’t there. Had I been carrying concealed, he wouldn’t have known I had my weapon; and I was there. I know without a doubt in my mind at some point I would’ve been able to stop my attack by using my firearm.”

Hudak will not be recalled.

We’ll have to wait until she’s up for re-election.

Recalls are isolated and allow the opposition to spend as much as they like in defending.

i will sign the recall against McLachlan. i think going after chickenpoophead is not a good use of time and money which could be better spent working on the legislature. granted he signed the bills but it is the dims in the legislature who got them to him. if we could have killed the bills he wouldn’t have had anything to sign. my idiot libtard dim woman senator (but i repeat myself) voted for them and, because of redistricting, which i had no input on, my federali representativs id diama destupid who makes patty murray look smart.

Hudak will not be recalled.

Well, she spent over $100,000 in her last election. Let her spend another $100,000 to keep it.

I hope that you're wrong and that she does get the boot but I don't know the demographics of her district. Regardless, I wish those who are working on her recall well and will support them.

Not a problem. RandallFlagg deserves the credit. There is a lot of work in the HTML for it.

I have sent BFDF a link to this thread. I’m hoping that they may join Free Republic and give us an update on everything.

Good thinking.

What would be the next steps to a recall? I live in Larkspur. Count me in!

This is what I have on John Morse. Looks like they just met today.

You are here Home » Recall Campaigns Recall Sen. John Morse Recall Sen. John Morse

John Morse believes gun owners are a "sickness on our souls."

"You should ignore them and do what [you] need to do,” he said when talking about listening to constituents to his fellow legislators.

“The reality is, these folks don’t have a Second Amendment right to buy these guns," he said when introducing his assault weapons liability bill.

Is this really a man that should be in office? We, and a majority of his constituents, say NO!

We're taking names for volunteers to help us get signatures. Get involved by going to our Mailing List and selecting John Morse Recall.

Timeline:
3/24/13 - Second meeting of the committee in Colorado Springs
3/17/13 - First official meeting of the committee in Colorado Springs
3/9/13 - Committee officially rolling
3/8/13 - 7PM Meeting at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs to begin discussing the recall.

You are in the same boat I'm in, not in the right county but there are still things that we can do.

Here is a link to contact them. http://basicfreedomdefensefund.org/?q=contact

“I still don’t know how he got in, in the first place.”

Thank the Libertarians for Morse being elected in 2011. He won by 340 votes and the Libertarian candidate won 5% of the vote.

Also thank the Libertarians for Hudak winning in 2012. She won by 584 with the Libertarian candidate winning 6% of the vote.

Fortunately the Libertarians have seen their error and are helping with Hudak’s recall.

This isn’t “me” guessing.

The State GOP isn’t interested in that battle.

Maybe the good people of Colorado, the conservatives and small 'l' libertarians can get the job done anyway.

>>I have heard that one is in the works. That, however, might be a harder nut to crack. In a conservative county like El Paso, I have no doubt that Morse will be gone though. I still don’t know how he got in, in the first place. Hippies from Manitou Springs, I suppose.

Or massive fraud.
