God can and we can try our best.

Yes. We must. It is what marks us a human. But when we fail, we must know two things, we couldn't stop it, and we did our best to.

It's so easy and so very human to beat ourselves up with what ifs, even when no 'if' would have sufficed.

I don’t remember ever hearing of Diamondhead, but I guess it is a part of the Biloxi/Gulfport area.

It's a bit further west, right on the north shore of Bay St. Louis.

Agree, there is a dark cloud..My son took his life.Did we do everything that we could-yes.I don’t look back on that.I just lost all memory of him except as a child in my arms.I am OK with that.A head shrink friend of mine said my brain could not handle it.Prayers for the family.

Diamondhead is on the north shore of Bay St Louis

Near Kiln and DeLisle

It was founded as a planned town early 70s by a large outfit from New Jersy owned by Malcolm McClean who married into RJ Reynolds and invented sea container shipping and founded Sea Land shipping

They owned Diamondhead....Lake Forest in Daphne AL on Mobile Bay.... Pinehurst NC and something in Oklahoma

My dad’s construction company contracted in house to do all their water and sewer layouts.....several hundred square miles and treatment plants etc

I worked as a ditch digger every summer 71-75 in that oppressive heat down there

But i don’t mind admitting those projects saved our family biz from ruin and dad only went up from there

So weird now to think of it as over 40 years old..it was infested with moccasins and big fat rattlers thick as my biceps

I stayed in a place on Rich ave in Mississippi city....survived Camille

Katrina wiped out the whole block

“Katrina wiped out the whole block”

True Story:
My wife’s cousin rode Katrina out in a travel trailer on the South Side of Bay St Louis uninjured. When he sobered up he moved to Vicksburg. I have heard God sometimes protects drunks and fools. He had double coverage.

Diamondhead is West of Gulfport, about halfway between Gulfport and the MS/LA state line. It was hit pretty hard in Katrina.

Is Rotenberry still married?

If so, are they separated?

The story line does not ring true to me.

I have not read anything about him. But I’m sure it will come out if there is anything there. If he is married he is a lot braver than I am

Have not read that he was married, but I did read that “his wife has a phone number at another address”. That does not mean he is or is not married. I know nothing about MS politics and POLs.

Let’s just say that I am skeptical of Rotenberry’s story. Makes little sense.
