NYC Mayor Bloomberg: Government has right to ‘infringe on your freedom’
The Washington Times ^ | March 25, 2013 | Cheryl K. Chumley

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said on Sunday: Sometimes government does know best. And in those cases, Americans should just cede their rights.

“I do think there are certain times we should infringe on your freedom,” Mr. Bloomberg said, during an appearance on NBC. He made the statement during discussion of his soda ban — just shot down by the courts — and insistence that his fight to control sugary drink portion sizes in the city would go forth.

What do think the purpose of the Republican and Democrat parties are? Divide the people and take turns stealing their gold…....

thank you.. truer words were never spoken. Just look at the so called Republicans get on their high horses about “fighting for the American way of life” all the while standing with a spine made of jello and the fighting spirit of the French and Italian armies.

Herr Bloomberg and his capo Cuomo can exercise a lot of authoritarian power, but the last time I checked, they cannot force you to stay in New York. You live there willingly, so there is no stereotype at play here.

I would not spend one second in the state of New York or NYC unless it was absolutely necessary. I go there about 4 times a year for work, and it takes me a week to wash the stench out of my luggage. People who stay there by choice, after everything that has happened there, are obviously not as averse to the authoritarian nanny state as the rest of us.

If you read what you wrote in the original post you will see that you did not say anything except we are all clueless about New Yorkers. If you had expanded a bit, I might have caught your point.

Work on your writing skills and I will work on my reasoning.

This just illustrates the true mindset of the ruling class. They truly are little dictators. Compound that with the majority of low and no information voters/citizens out there and you can understand how dangerously close we are to electing a full fledged dictator.

New York City politics is just Chicago with less testosterone but just as crazy, corrupt, and communist (marxist, statist, authoritarian).

The Public really doesn't get it.

They adopt a monstrous health care plan for all of us, exempt themselves and force us to fund a Cadillac health care plan for THEM.

They try to pass laws to disarm us while keeping armed bodyguards and personal pistols to protect themselves and WE pay for it.

They sit in office for YEARS on the public dole, pass legislation they don't even READ, let alone UNDERSTAND and WE RE-ELECT THEM!!! NOT ONCE, but AGAIN AND AGAIN!!!

America is ripe for a dictatorship.

[[They adopt a monstrous health care plan for all of us, exempt themselves and force us to fund a Cadillac health care plan for THEM.]]

A hundred or so years ago- politicians could have NEVER gotten away with this- The fact that our ogvernment has becoem so bold that htey actually FORCED us to fund cadillac health care for gthem while FORCING us to fuerther purchase our own govenrment mandadted HC shows how little they fear the peopel any longer- They have becoem not a govenrment ‘for hte people’, but rather a ‘bully for their own self enrichement”- they are no different thaqn the school yard bully who boldly goes up to smaller kids and demands their lunch money knowing full well the little folks won’t fight back

[[And being that we are currently going through a moron apocalypse in this country judging by the fact that Obama was elected twice, ]]

Precisely, I’ll NEVER forget the colored woman who when asked by fox news why she voted for him said ‘So I can git me soem of that odama money” and when asked where she thought that money was goign to coem from she got a crap eatign grin on her face and shrugged her shoulders and said “It’s just free”

That is them oment I realized that sadly that is how this country is becoming- People want ‘their’ slice of the pie before it’s all gone, and to hell with future generaqtions-in their sad little minds gubmint will ‘just fix it’ when the time comes and hte country is broke,
