Plenty of people showed up to vote for Romney whether or not he was a Mormon. After all it wasn’t an election for First President ~ but the folks who stayed away are THE SAME ONES who voted for Bush and stayed away for McCain. That arrow points toward an Eastern state gang of Republicans called Rockefeller Republicans.

traditional marriage supporting one

Was Aikin opposed to divorce and single mother custody, and for criminalizing adultery? I never knew.

Even after having been warned that he was hurting the Party, RNC Chairman Preibus REFUSED to dispatch learned counsel to both those candidates to guide them away from interviews and events where they'd be baited into speaking too frankly.

With Preibus acting as Romney's intercessor on Earth, it's clear that it's really Romney's fault!

...or the people that thought Akin was a MORON, which he isn’t, well, you get crap like this!!...

Akin is a true, prize-winning MORON. That said, if I lived in Missouri, I would have voted for the ignorant creep (and had he won, I would have worked with everything I had to replace the pathetic, selfish fool next primary.)

People in Missouri should have not trusted her or said to themselves, she would be better than the others or stayed home. Now, look at what has happened. Why didn’t you fire her!! Yes, thank you!

Whoop-de-doo. Portman was on a vice presidential shortlist for no apparent reason. He’s really no more of a name than Susan Collins. Was it Ben Nelson that spoke out today against gay marriage? I can’t remember. It was on the radio. He’s a Demorat.
Rove and these former Bush staffers can go on Fox and talk about big tents and all that crap, but they’re nobodies as well. They’re losers.
“Oh, I can see a future Republican presidential candidate saying yes to gay marriage, you know!”...
Really, ‘cos I sure as shit can’t. At least, not one who would be aiming to win.

Oh, and to the voting people of Missouri. Thanks a lot for sending this genius to the senate... AGAIN. I know Akin was a moron, but this b*tch is a million times worse, with all due respect. What a lying, phony, pathetic excuse for a woman.

Amen, Ann Archy! Too bad Missourians (and others) refused to support the good because this candidate (Romney, Akin, Murdoch, etc) wasn't perfect. Now everyone gets to pay the price.

Please, people, let's learn. Assuming we have another opportunity to learn.......

I bet people in Mo will trade Akins now for mccaskill. My friends in St Genevieve were smart enough to know he was better, no matter how damaged than any democrat.

People should have got behind Todd after he would not step aside so we could have got rid of her.

You're preaching to the choir. It's fair to say most Missouri Freepers voted for Akin (even if they had to hold their nose). It were the conservative-leaning swing voters and moderates that Akin's bone-headed comments cost him.

Those voters you talk of guess they would not had voted for him much anyway. Like all republicans and conservatives voted for him. See some of these posts. It was not all of his fault; just saying.

Todd Akin defeated himself......lots of lessons there.

Horse Puckey. Karl Rove, Ann Coulter, Mitt Romney, et al., defeated Todd Akin. They drove the knife deep between his shoulder blades. And even today, well past the election, they still delight in slashing at him. (Just heard Ann Coulter at CPAC once again stabbing this fellow conservative in the back.) If we had stopped listening to the GOPe agents and listened to Todd Akin instead, we wouldn't have McCaskill today. That's the *only* lesson worth taking from that fiasco. I'm done with GOPe. I hope you are too.

Like clockwork. Several months later and another thread filled with the following logic:

“We should have elected liberal Romney no matter what he DID, but Akin SAID a stupid thing so we can’t vote for him.

I honestly don’t know how some of you people remember to draw breath in the morning. The Doublethink on display is simply stunning.

Keep following these fools and we will never win.

Which fool? Akin or Rove. Missouri sided with Rove and I'm not pleased with the result. I think I would have counted it a "win" if the big government liberals (including Rove) had lost.

Akin made a campaign error blown out of proportion by his enemies in both parties. But the people of MO nearly always get it wrong. They thought Harry Truman was wonderful too.

That’s exactly it. Blown ALL out of proportion. His record was fairly solid on conservative issues. Romney’s was anything but.

But SOMEHOW we had to kill off the conservative and elect 2 liberals to promote conservatism. And when one of the Akin hate squad presents a logical argument for that I’m all ears.

Of course there IS NO LOGICAL argument for that. But there are still lots of people trying to self-justify for their ... actions.
