George Zimmerman's brother reopened old wounds yesterday by comparing Trayvon Martin to the alleged killer of a 13-month-old baby, Huffington Post reports. Robert Zimmerman tweeted photos of De'Marquis Elkins—accused of shooting a baby in its stroller last week—and Martin, each flipping the middle finger. "A picture speaks a thousand words," reads text with the photos. "Any questions?" Robert's brother George is facing murder charges for killing Martin in a murky confrontation that gripped the nation last year.
Robert's tweet aroused a mix of support and antagonism. In one exchange:

IMNSHO, you’re wrong. The expression 2ndDivisionVet used is clearly meant to be ironic. It’s a very common expression for a good reason.
Yeah, if I was on trial for murder and my brother decided he wanted to emote and help get me convicted, there would be two shooting victims. Fun is fun but FR used to be a place for some intelligent analysis.
It is not even remotely smart to compare Z with a helpless 13 month old victim, or to portray TM as the equivalent of a baby killer.

What if the majority white/beige/brown population threaten to riot in the streets if the two murdering black teenagers and their lying family members are not jailed immediately?

Is it because the baby couldn't be expected to fight back against a gun while strapped into his stroller?
Would you feel better if the murderer had beaten the head of the baby against the ground a few times before they shot him once in the head, after they had already fired a few rounds at the mother?
Poor Zimmerman, he is an adult male, head of his local community watch organization, legally armed with a gun, and he survived a violent encounter with teenager Trayvon Martin!
What did Martin and the “alledged” killer of the baby have in common?
I guess we are none of us supposed to notice the Internet profiles and hand signals and open thuggish racist trash talk, are we?

Is it her fault her baby is dead from a shot in the head while he was strapped into his stroller? Or are you willing to let the media and courts sort all that nasty business out for you?

I don’t know what the hell you are going on about. I support George Zimmerman, believe he is innocent, and I hate the racists and leftists who are trying to lynch him.
However, he is on trial for murder. His brother is an idiot to have made that tweet. Period.
It’s not a free speech issue. It’s an idiot issue.
When your brother is facing many years in prison you shouldn’t go screaming everything that comes into your head or heart.
As for the details of the comparison he made, the last thing George Zimmerman needs is anyone thinking he is comparing himself to a helpless 13 month old, or that he is comparing TM to the shooter of a 13 month old.
But then it seems FR has become home to a lot of folks who think getting half a drunk on and acting out is the same as being smart about things.
If I’m ever on trial for anything I can only be glad none of you are my relatives.

God forbid the perversions of justice in the Zimmerman case be pointed out by comparison to another “sensitive racial case” of murder.
Georgia stepped up to the plate, and quickly charged the family of the accused for providing false sworn statements to the police.
Florida, OTOH, is still playfully toying with what is turning out to be proven, manufactured, inflammatory “false evidence”.

His brother did something foolish before his trial, I’m sorry you’re not mature enough to understand that. Or to even allow me to explain that to you without crude responses and screaming at me about the First Amendment. Whatever, I suppose your behavior is similar to Z’s brother’s failure to contain himself when his brother is on trial.
The two cases are not related. The racial connection is NOT helpful to Zimmerman because his position is that his actions had nothing to do with race. Photos of two people making a finger do not prove the two people are killers or that blacks are killers or that blacks who give the finger are killers. To demonstrate that Z and his family might think all young blacks are criminals is NOT helpful to his defense.
I know this reasoning is beyond you, nonetheless it is still reasoning.
