DAPHNE, Alabama -- A 21-year-old has been arrested after police say he put medication into a plastic Easter egg which mingled with 1,500 others and made its way into the hands of a 6-year-old Sunday.
Jarret Anthony Helm was arrested and charged with one count of disorderly conduct, according to the Daphne Police Department. He is being held in Daphne City Jail.
Officials say Helm was volunteering at Christ the King Catholic Church Sunday when he "inadvertently and accidentally," mixed a plastic Easter egg holding his ADHD medication with 1,500 bound for the March 24 Easter Family Fun Day egg hunt.

I wonder if he was actually volunteering, or was “volunteering” in connection with some court-ordered supervisory program.
Okay, let’s see. The guy is working as a volunteer for an Easter egg hunt. And he keeps his prescription medication in a plastic Easter egg.
There is a remote possibility the guy might be innocent if the Adderal is prescribed for adult ADHD. Criminal actions require criminal intent. If the guy genuinely cannot think straight, he may have just made a very serious mistake and thankfully, the child was not injured.
I am not a big fan of trial by lynch mob. Let the police invetigate it thoroughly and let the jury decide.

As I understand it, this med is taken only once a day, usually at night.

I've heard of it being taken for ADHD, one in the morning and one in the early afternoon. They stop taking it at night because it's hard to sleep when the drug takes effect. Of course I'm not a doctor or pharmacist and in severe cases of adult ADHD, it might be prescribed for more frequent use. In any event .... if the guy is that messed up he shouldn't be around children to begin with.
Maybe all prescription medicine should be microstamped with the name of the patient like the libs want done to bullets?

to be honest i have ever seen a mug shot that a person doesn’t have that kind of look on his or her face. never.
plus theres a good chance he missed that dose of medication,....
