Philadelphia, PA, March 27, 2013 (OperationRescue.org) – The Kermit Gosnell murder trial opened Tuesday with a heated dispute over the prosecution’s toxicology expert witness that soon degenerated into a loud shouting match between defense attorney Jack McMahon and Judge Jeffery Minehart, who ordered McMahon to sit down.

According to a local news report, minutes after the argument between McMahon and Judge Minehart, McMahon exchanged angry words with prosecutor Joanne Pescatore in the hallway outside the courtroom that also escalated to the point of shouting.

Toxicology results are important in this trial. From the article:

Gosnell is accused of committing third degree murder when he allegedly allowed an unqualified worker with only a 6th grade education to fatally overdose the 100-pound woman with Demerol a cheap drug that is no longer preferred due to its many documented complications. He also faces seven charges of first degree murder for his routine practice of snipping the spinal cords of newborn babies that were born alive during late-term abortions.

What in the world is a person with only a sixth grade education doing dispensing drugs to patients?

That would not be allowed in a Veterinary Clinic!!!

I forgot, we are talking about an abortion clinic. Anything goes...

Once he’s found guilty, someone needs to snip HIS spine.

They didn’t exactly say, in law school, you should never ever get unhinged and shouting angry at the one person in the courtroom you really need on your side. But it kinda does seem obvious. Or maybe I just missed that class on “how to tantrum your way to victory in court.”

As a practicing defense attorney I can say I have never done that. But I could envision a scenario where a high profile client paying lots of money is disgruntled because his team isn't “trying hard enough” or whatever other crap they say and the attorney is only doing it to avoid a grievance from the client. I have had clients that expected something out of me in court that I am not accustomed to, and when you are getting started it is hard to tell them to shut up and let me do my job.
Now I am perfectly happy to piss off my client if it is ultimately in his best interest. I won't put on a show that hurts the case just so my client will grin.

Up in New York Cuomo wants to start letting people like that operate independently of their bosses in the publicly guarded Aubrie's.

They'll be free to wander the city streets in old taxis selling abortions.

Might be they'll drive the price down so low it'll eliminate the medically trained abortionists out of the business, but it will also certainly make Gosnell look like a sanitation freak!

So, more pregnant women die horrible deaths while seeking the deaths of their children ~ hard to say how someone is supposed to feel about that. On the one hand, then on the other ~ it's a nasty business, and there's no doubt about it. Best way to avoid the various moral dilemmas of modern abortion is to stay out of the business.

The USSC did say gub'mnt couldn't regulate it back in Roe v Wade.
