TUCSON (AP) A campaign promising free shotguns for people in Tucsons most troubled neighborhoods has divided some residents in a community still reeling from a shooting rampage in 2011 that killed six people, left a congresswoman and several others wounded, and made the city a symbol of gun violence in America.
The nonprofit Armed Citizen Project is part of a national campaign to give shotguns to single women and homeowners in neighborhoods with high-crime rates. The effort comes amid a national debate on gun control after mass shootings in Arizona, Colorado and Connecticut.

It’s either that or admit Biteme is an idiot for suggesting women avoid rape by use of a shotgun!
Obviously, the local thugs and hoplophobes [people with an unreasoning fear of weapons] are disturbed they might acquire a load of buckshot. Oh, the huge Manatee.
Biden recommending women get double-barrelled shotguns for home defense has to be driving the Brady bunch nuts!
So let the hood divide. If you don’t want a free firearm then don’t get one!
I simply cannot understand these freakin morons. I refuse to allow myself, any longer, to try to even understand where they are coming from.
Theirs is a world built on INSANITY. I’m done trying to understand it because it’s making ME crazy!
I live in Tucson. Our City Council is way wacko left ala San Fran. They have had gun buy backs and we have alot of civilians on the other side of the street offering twice what the police offer. Any gun worth a shit is bought up and recycled into the community. Boat anchors and rusty/broke guns are all the police get. I laugh my ass off every time this happens. This program is driving the City Council folks NUTS!!! I love it!!
Hmm, I thought Tucson was still in Pima County. Pima County is as close as you can get to a “sanctuary county” in Arizona. If I lived in Pima County I would not go across the yard without being armed. But wait, I live next door to Pima County and I don't go across the yard with out being armed.
If the liberals get “Universal Background Checks” (which they claim 90% of the people support) you can kiss the competing gun buyers across the street goodbye. They won’t be able to undercut the city turn-in program.
I’ll put some money down that says Jeff Flake will vote for it. He did the sharpest left turn I’ve ever seen the instant he was sworn in as Senator. He was pretty good as a Rep, but has his face firmly planted up McCain’s a$$ as Senator.
Their world view is not rational. Here is a monograph that explains much of the psychology of Leftists:

John J. Ray is brilliant.
As I have stated, I am no longer trying to understand their crazy world.
However, I still do believe in a polite society and try my best to continue. You have taken the time to send me the link (I’m not even 1/2 way through!) so I will continue on and finish.
There are many things I have read thus far, in which I would like to quote, however; I must finish reading your link.
And a big thank you and (((hug))) for the link!
Now.....back to it. =)
What is Pinal County like these days? Haven’t been there since the eighties.
A few cons
Straight roads, rivers with no water, no trees, and the cacti giving you the bird.
Tooo damn many old folks, illegals and drug smugglers, but you can't have everything.
JJ Ray is indeed brilliant. I have been reading his ideas since about 1990 as he had clarified some of the odd arguments and research being advanced by the researchers of authoritarianism in the 1950s. They were replacing psychology with socialist ideology and both their theoretical and empirical work was badly flawed. JJ Ray made it clear their work was contrived—ideology was primary and science was only a ruse for advancing the ideology.
Poll about this at http://www.kvoa.com halfway down on the right.
Former Tucson mayoral candidate Shaun McClusky wants to give those in high crime neighborhoods free shotguns. How do you feel about this?
I’m in favor of handing out shotguns.
I’m against this.
