U.S. flexes muscle after N. Korea provocation

U.S. F-22 stealth fighter jets arrived in South Korea on Sunday for exercises as part of an effort to demonstrate advanced military capabilities, seeking to deter provocations from North Korea, according to reports.

The move come after North Korea warned South Korea earlier in the weekend that the Korean peninsula had entered a “state of war,” according to an Associated Press report. Pyongyang threatened to shut down a border factory that is a symbol of North and South Korean cooperation, according to the report.

The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday that the arrival of the stealth jets came after previous examples of U.S. air power that included B-52 bombers and B-2 stealth bombers. The F-22 steal jets are normally stationed in Japan at Kadena air force base but flew to a South Korean base for continuing military exercises. Stealth aircraft more easily evade radar tracking.

A short time ago Chinese officials were threatening to start shooting at Japanese ships.

A war right now is not a good idea vis a vis the world's economy.

The only part of that I don’t believe is that Hagel would do anything without 0bama’s approval.

Hagel needs Obama’s permission to go home every night.

Probably why Obama is trying to start one.

Given Hagel's confirmation testimony he needs step by step instructions as well.

The Chinese love to bluster, but I don't see the strategic sense in their sticking their neck out to challenge the (still, so far) world's most powerful military (and the number one customer for their manufactured crap) because of the diaper-wetting tantrums of the asian Augustus Gloop.

It's a sticky situation, but if push comes to shove, I think he'll find himself friendless.

Hagel isn’t the smartest bulb on the tree and that’s just how they want it.

And the purging of the Generals and Admirals will continue..........

I’m so grateful that we don’t have a narcissistic psychopath running our country! (oh wait . . .)

There is no need for the USA to prove that it's tough.

Obama has been a Neo-Con wet dream. Just look at all the Arab majority nations he has collapsed (Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Syria, Iraq, etc..). Granted he was trying to help most of those nations, but help from Obama is akin to war. We Americans are intimately aware of that fact.

I’m not exactly sure what “Neo-Cons” would want but I doubt that it be the toppling of countries just to let them become part of a cabal of a Muslim Caliphate.

No Caliphate yet. The Turks, Egyptians and the Iranians have to determine a winner. That could take a few decades. The reason the Neo-Cons went into Syria was because it was determined that Syria had to be taken down before Iran. Do not agree with that theory. Taking on Syria first is just gonna make taking on Iran more difficult.

Indeed. There is no need to demonstrate any capability - Shock and Awe did that nicely.

The thing is the stealth fighters really serve no purpose there except to stir things up. NK doesn’t have much of an air force.

So, who are these Neo-Cons you speak of? 0bama and Hillary?
