Navy Veteran Shot & Wounded By Police While Testing Shotgun In Backyard
CBS Baltimore ^ | March 29, 2013 | Mike Schuh

Posted on 03/31/2013 6:56:34 PM PDT by Ken H

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—A 24-year-old Navy veteran is in intensive care after being shot by city police Thursday night. His family tells WJZ that he was testing out a shotgun after being the victim of a home invasion.

Mike Schuh spoke exclusively to the man’s father.

Police say officers responded to reports of shots fired Thursday night outside a home in the 8700-block of Danville Avenue.

“They went to the rear of the location to investigate. They encountered an individual that was armed with a shotgun. During the course of that encounter, one of our officers discharged, striking the suspect,” said Sgt. Eric Kowalczyk, police spokesman.

Shot above his heart was 24-year-old Navy veteran Nick Romano. The police bullet exited his back. His spleen was removed at the hospital.

I vote for: “The Reporter is Stupid.”

Yes, he is, BUT look at what glowing remarks CBS says about him.

Where did all the “reporters” go? Long time ago.

Article was written so poorly as to be hardly understandable or else he is obfuscating to cover for the cops.

Homeland Security and the In-Justice Department has decided to kill off as many military veterans as possible. There’s a bounty placed upon them.

no, the story involved a gun, so the reporter immediately lost whatever sense he previously had.

“mebbe the cop told the docs he was a aimin’ for the spleen”

Cops today: Just like Top Gun, “If you’ve got the shot lined up, take it!” Never mind that someone may die, because the “legal system” will almost always declare it “justified.” Cops pull this stuff all the time, but let “one of their own” take a bullet, and they crank up the “amen chorus” about how terrible it was for Officer So and So to get killed. Just look at what happened in Los Angeles recently with the rogue cop. The cops got trigger happy because for once they were being “hunted” and it was by one of “their own,”! I don’t like to see anyone die, but far too many of us citizens are paying the price for the “Top Gun Attitude.” Cops, they are not there “to protect and to serve” today, if they ever were!

Reporters are not very bright. There was an article about First Ladies and Easter on the net. Reporter talked about Eleanor Roosevelt who was First Lady early in the 1900's. Somehow the reporter must have thought Eleanor was married to FDR! She probably didn't even know there were two Roosevelts. LOL

Your spleen is above your heart?

Go easy. Journalism is one of a handful of degrees you can obtain while consistently stoned.

Not having a spleen really sucks. Minor illnesses can quickly become major ones without one. I hope he gets $10 million from these jackbooted bastards.

Of course ~ remember NYC? Shootout with some guy and the cops hit 9 passersby. You’d never see something sloppy like that with a postal worker on the job.

Removing the spleen buys the docs some time to figure out what was wrong with the patient.
