Boris Berezovsky "couldn't live with his guilt" after helping Vladimir Putin into power

Exiled Russian Boris Berezovsky "couldn't live with his guilt" after helping Vladimir Putin into power, his daughter revealed today.

Elizaveta ("Liza") Berezovskay said her father, who was found dead in his home last week, "felt very guilty towards the Russian people" after he helped Putin become first prime minister of Russia and then president.

The 67-year-old fled to the UK after falling out with the leader in 2000 over plans to allow the Kremlin to dismiss elected governors.

Liza told The Independent on Sunday: "I think he felt guilty about Putin. Having helped put Putin in, and then seeing him become what he did … I think he felt very guilty towards the Russian people about that. He couldn't live with his guilt about that."

Berezovsky was found dead in his £20 million mansion in Ascot, Berks, by an employee last Saturday.

He was found lying in his bathroom with a ligature around his neck.

A piece of the same material around his throat was tied on to the shower rail above him, indicating he apparently hanged from the rail.

Police say that there was "nothing to indicate a sign of struggle or third party involvement.”

However, they told a coroner they still cannot rule out murder.

Pals fear Mr Berezovsky was murdered due to his troubled history with the Kremlin and links to the inquest of spy Alexander Litvinenko.

Talking about her father's feud with Putin, Liza, 42, said: "The easiest thing for my father would have been supporting this regime and remaining rich and powerful. But he couldn't do that because it was wrong."

Liza added: "He thought all he needed to do was show Putin's real face to the West, and the West would stop shaking hands with Putin. At first, he had too high an opinion of the West. They kicked the British Council out of Russia, yet Mr [David] Cameron accompanied Mr Putin to watch the judo, a favourite sport of Putin's, at the Olympics. For a quite a while the UK kept its honour, but it has lost it."

Not a chance, more like BB couldn’t live with trained KGB assassins and the friends of Vlad Putin.

Sounds like daughter had better watch out, or they may get her, too.

I read a book last year called “Londongrad.” It was about some of the big name, big money Russians (and also Litivenko) who had moved to London. Some of them played ball with Putin, and had continued Russian business interests. If I remember correctly, Berezovsky didn’t get along with most of the other Russian tycoons and was involved in a number of bruising lawsuits.

It may not have just been Putin that he didn’t get along with. The book gives the impression that Berezovsky was a very difficult person to others, and an incorrigible spendthrift. That combination makes suicide as a good a possibility as Death by Kremlin, absent other info.

51% of the USA should feel the same about their mistake last year.

There is no greater ally to Russia than the UK right now.

This can be found with the ONLY BANK ALLOWING WITHDRAWALS from the Cyprus money hiding spot being London.

Britain is no longer our ally. Sad as that is.

Uh, don’t you mean 5 years ago?

No, they won’t feel guilty until the slush fund stops filling their wallets.

>>Uh, don’t you mean 5 years ago?<<

5 years ago they were enamored and in love. Stupid, but understandable (LIV). But after 4 years of total mis-management, misery and governmental incursion into our freedom, there was NO reason to re-elect the dilettant puppet.

It is like getting pregnant as a single. The first time MIGHT be a mistake — the second time is wanton disregard of consequences.

Berezovski was a pal and a partner of good old Soros. Along with his other pal (now jailed liberal martyr) Kodorvovski they ‘ve screwed Soros.
Not only they screwed him, Soros has really feared Berezovski.

There are accounts from Soros on how Berezovski invited him to an office in Moscow, decorated al Kapone style.

Soros was nervous with the fact Berezovski was under investigation for a massive fraud and expressed concerns if it can hurt their “business”.
Berezovski told: “Never mind. It is my problem and I’m in a process to sovle it”.

Next day there was a huge fire in police department investigating this case. For some reason all the entrances were blocked with vehicles and dozens of detectives died along with all the evidence on Berezovski case.

Soros has panicked thinking what Berezovski can do about him if something won’t be too smooth between them.

I think this event alone makes an idea who Berezovski was.
