SC's ex-Gov. Sanford clears hurdle in comeback bid

"I want to thank my God," Sanford said. "I used to cringe when somebody would say I want to thank my God because at that point I would think this is getting uncomfortable. But once you really receive God's grace and (have) seen it reflected in others you stop and acknowledge that grace and the difference He has made in my life and in so many lives across this state and across this nation."

It’s more than adultery....it’s a guy abandoning his post to engage in said adultery, while serving his constituents.

If it were an employee of mine doing that, I’d not only fire him on the spot, but I’d make damn sure nobody else would hire him.

I don't have to prove anything.

Sanford is an immoral pig. Voters abandoning their principles doesn't change that nor does it make them "winners". They just wallow in slop with their "choice". Lay down with dogs, get up with fleas.

So, now Sanford has sunk to an even lower low, playing the “God” card to tell us that we shouldn’t judge him because God has forgiven him. In other words, Sanford is using God to get what he wants and further his political goals. Kinda like how he used his wife to get what he wanted and further his political aspirations. In the final analysis, the man is nothing more than a user. He disgusts me even more than the Democrat he is running against.

Well if the choice is between hiring him or hiring a baby killing, faggotry supporting, Obama loving, communist....you can see where I’m going with this.

Not a tough choice for me.

We are in a war and voting for men that have no integrity doesn’t make us winners.

Granted, if I lived in SC, I’d probably have to vote for the jerk, but I sure wouldn’t be happy about it. And I’d sure want to primary him each time he came up for re-election.

Truly that's between Sanford and God.

We only have his actions to judge him by and he lacks moral integrity.

Sanford did more than humiliate his faithful wife and betray his four sons for some cheap South American poon. He went AWOL and tried to make me pay for his lay overs in buenos aires. He made a laughingstock of conservatives all over America. He's always been a Gigolo, too. Jenny paid for his campaigns, kind of like John McCain had Cindy's dad pay for his.

I'm past being a loyal republican so you can indulge in a vicarious sexual escapade. I'm a conservative. Sanford should have had the good taste to slink away and shag the whore who meant so much to him, instead he must flaunt her before his kids and make me watch, too. I know a faithless heart when I see one, and a cold blooded narcissist who is dying for the limelight.

Because Sanford has so misbehaved, he must become a liberal on social issues. I'm sure Maria la Puta will call the shots, and if she likes abortion and SSM Markie must, too. He just wants attention, and he badly needs a job.

Given the choice of losing my freedom and voting for an immoral man, I choose freedom. I won’t be able to put up much of a fight in a concentration camp.

Actually Gingrich didn't. His wife asked for the divorce.

Jackie Gingrich Cushman: About Newt’s ‘deathbed divorce’

However Sanford is well on his way on that road.

The thing that I never understand is if he cheated on his wife what makes this one think he won't cheat on her? Because he "loves" her? Didn't he "love" his wife when he married her?

I bet if Sanford lost tonight, the puta would have caught the first plane back to Buenos Aires.

I sure as hell didn’t want him nominated, for exactly this reason, I could feel the hate, no one wants to vote for him.

Except it seems, for the people in the district that nominated him.

I’d rather worry about primaring him in 2014 than having to spend millions to win back a Republican seat from hollywood.

He may actually believe it. God does forgive but that’s between him and God. Meanwhile we have his actions to judge by.

Several reasons. 1. First of all, he is trying to "redeem," himself. We all know you don't "redeem" yourself by being a conservative. You "redeem" yourself by standing up to conservatives and being progressive. 2. Look back at before all that happened. A lot of Freepers felt he was not conservative in the first place. 3. To the extent he was conservative it was because his wife was in charge. His wife was the brains. Without her, he is just a sub-80 IQ idiot. Now he hates her, he's going to reject her political philosophy. 4. He feels that he was wronged by what happened. He has an ax to grind against Republicans. Unfortunately, that will express itself against conservatives. 5. He tries to justify bad behavior. Enough said. 6. A real conservative who made a mistake like he did would not seek to get back into politics. He or she would do the decent thing, and move on to other projects in life. They would realize this is not in the best interest of their family, or anyone. You don't have to live of the government your entire life. But Sanford does. 7. His desire to get back into politics and all his behavior demonstrates, selfishness, and an, "the world is all about me." Does that sound like a conservative or a lefty?

There are probably more reasons. How many reasons do you need? He was barely acceptable back when. Now he is completely unacceptable. It's better to have a real conservative in 2016, then to be stuck with this egotistical left wing dirt-bag for 30 years.

Maybe she was a ball buster? I married one of those and I thank the Lord it ended. Marriage should not be torture.

A mistake?

When you make a “mistake” you don’t realize it at the time you’re doing it.

Sanford knew what he was doing was wrong, and he did it anyway.

She might have looked around to see how close he came and if there was a different election he could win first.
