The Democratic congresswoman behind a new bill that would require gun owners to get liability insurance or face a fine of up to $10,000 says she’s now receiving death threats.
New York Rep. Carolyn Maloney said she has been receiving threats since The Daily Caller reported Tuesday about her “Firearm Risk Protection Act,” which would require gun buyers nationwide to obtain “a qualified liability insurance policy” before they are able to legally purchase a firearm.
“They said they were going to kill me,” Maloney said of the threats, according to the New York Daily News. The liberal Democrat, the paper reported, received three calls within about an hour on Tuesday night.
She says she was so shaken up by the calls that she skipped an awards dinner after reflecting on what happened to former Arizona Rep. Gabby Giffords, who was nearly killed in a 2011 shooting.
“I couldn’t go. Who knows what could happen?” Maloney told the Daily News. “I think any member of Congress would be scared after what happened to my good friend Gabby Giffords.”

I would not doubt that she is. But they come from the people she hired to make them so she could garner sympathy. therefore, is she receiving threats? She said she was and she probably paid someone to make them. Are the threats genuine? No.
Gun owners are getting real tired of this communists push to steal from them. More and more it looks like those that want to destroy a Constitutional right are getting in trouble.
Forgot about her comments about her dear friend gabby giffords (and not to forget the ever affable mark kelly giffords) being shot. Here we have an asshat that didn’t require being shot to be deficient in her mental capacity. Or lack thereof. Typical radical left wing extremist demokkkrat scumbag socialist tramping on we, the law abiding victims.

Yeah, I read a story where drug dealers and gangbangers were standing in line to buy insurance for their guns.

Or was that only the law abiding citizens who would do that? The same law abiding citizens who pose no liabilty risk in the first place.
I hope she can pass a universal background check and wait several weeks before she gets her gun for self defense. I hope her local LEO thinks she is deserving and worthy enough to be granted out of his/her kindness and mercy, a CCW license.
Let’s see what her reaction to these “threats” are. And how she would like to go through the same crap and impossibilities the average person has to go through in NY for a spelled out, clear constitutional right.
If dems were consistent they would make it just as hard to be a journalist - because they influence people by what they do and don’t cover and how they spin it - as they are on law abiding gun owners.

Maybe it is time for every congress critter to have SS or capital police security team assigned to them..armed of course. Then we need security for all the federal judges and supremes..and the US attorneys...This could have a real impact on the unemployment problem. Reduce the military and hire them as security guards for our elite pols.
She needs to back up her claims. In what form is she receiving death threats that cannot be traced? Phone calls...traceable. E-mails...traceable. Letters in the mail...she has the fastest mailman in the world as she only said this yesterday and already she’s receiving threatening mail?. Nonetheless, it’s probably traceable as well. Are people walking up to her and threatening her? I think she’s blowing smoke.
Members of Congress should live in a permanent state of fear for their lives.
Where I sit, I am continually surprised that the loudest and shrillest voices calling for our persecution and disarmament are not quietly disappearing, or turning up swinging from lamp posts. Just goes to show that we are far more tolerant than they are.
While up close and personal is OK this would do too.
