Spring and followers have to be replaced, over time, and if they ban production of those by OEMs, someone will manufacturer them. Even baseplates will have to be replaced at some point in time, but they can be fabricated by the same “someone” or a good metalworker.

The electoral award has to be done on a per district bases so in state fly over country is non-existant. Federal candidates should not be able to visit just one or two major cities and ignore the rest of a state. Essentiall a politician running for pres would have to win the majority of the districts and not just a raw popular vote of those city zombies.

The Michigan Secretary of state says she supports a proportional (By district) electoral distribution. Delegates at the state convention voted to support it some 1700 to 300.
I wish we could do the same with senators.
