Looking In
Savoy Brown
Lead singer on that LP, the late great Lonesome Dave.

One of my favourite SB albums, although it is a slight diversion from their generally more blues/blues rock oriented LPs.

Any other FReepers had the pleasure of seeing Kim Simmonds live? Excellent guitarist, a consummate professional.

STANDING ON THE CORNER by The Four Lads

"Oh, no, you can't go to jail for what you're thinking
Or for that woo look in you're eye..."

That might have been true in 1956, when that song was released, but not today.

Good evening, CMS! I don't believe we've been formally introduced, but I've seen you here on many occasions, formerly from the Sandbox and now in CONUS.

Thanks to you from a 'Nam Vet for your service to our Nation!

It gives this old geezer great comfort that young men and women like you are stepping up to the plate and defending this Great Nation and the Freedoms that we enjoy.

God Bless You Good!

We're falling through the 30's here right now - expecting rain and sleet before morning.

From this office, I can't take the route home that I become accustomed to taking home. I'll have to use the old way: to the west out M Street and Canal Road past Georgetown University, up Foxhall Road to Nebraska Avenue, through Rock Creek Park, through my old stomping grounds in Silver Spring, up Colesville Road past the dam at Burnt Mills where I used to ice skate as a boy and up Route 29 - a road I have traveled for over half a century. So let it be written - so let it be dome!

How about Bargain....

I’d gladly lose me to find you
I’d gladly give up all I had
To find you I’d suffer anything and be glad

I’d pay any price just to get you
I’d work all my life and I will
To win you I’d stand naked, stoned and stabbed

I’d call that a bargain
The best I ever had
The best I ever had

I’d gladly lose me to find you
I’d gladly give up all I got
To catch you I’m gonna run and never stop

I’d pay any price just to win you
Surrender my good life for bad
To find you I’m gonna drown an unsung man

I’d call that a bargain
The best I ever had
The best I ever had

I sit looking ‘round
I look at my face in the the mirror
I know I’m worth nothing without you
In life one and one don’t make two
One and one make one
And I’m looking for that free ride to me
I’m looking for you

I’d gladly lose me to find you
I’d gladly give up all I got
To catch you I’m gonna run and never stop

I’d pay any price just to win you
Surrender my good life for bad
To find you I’m gonna drown an unsung man

I’d call that a bargain
The best I ever had
The best I ever had

Ammonia Avenue - Alan Parsons Project

Is there no sign of light as we stand in the darkness?
Watching the sun arise
Is there no sign of life as we gaze at the waters?
Into the strangers eyes

And who are we to criticize or scorn the things that they do?
For we shall seek and we shall find Ammonia Avenue

If we call for the proof and we question the answers
Only the doubt will grow
Are we blind to the truth or a sign to believe in?
Only the wise will know

And word by word they handed down the light that shines today
And those who came at first to scoff, remained behind to pray
Yes those who came at first to scoff, remained behind to pray

When you can’t hear the rhyme and you can’t see the reason
Why should the hope remain?
For a man will be tired and his soul will grow weary
Living his life in vain

And who are we to justify the right in all we do?
Until we seek until we find Ammonia Avenue

Through all the doubt somehow they knew
And stone by stone they built it high
Until the sun broke through
A ray of hope, a shining light Ammonia Avenue
