I don’t see how that’s possible...VN, Grenada, Iraq, Afghanistan all offered hands on experience but I don’t know their career paths so maybe they did college, OCS and a desk job.

There is not a single VN GEN in the Army. MG Bargewell was the last. Those who have been in Afgan and Iraq as LT’s and CPT’s are not Gen’s yet. A CPT who is promoted to Major usually has almost 10 years of commissioned service. Add another 5 to LTC on average, then another 5 to Full Colonel and maybe a real lucky O-5 who made BDE CO makes BG in 5 years. We have not been fighting this for 15 years yet. Also, senior CPT’s are usually in some BN or BDE staff job as they commanded a rifle company earlier.
