At the time yes. Toomey has always been fake. Gayi in the military supporter and God knows what else.
Toomey is to the left of Arlen Specter and that is why Santorum was so devoted to defeating him and keeping in Specter?
Actually Santorum new that Specter could WIN. Toomey would have lost his a$$ that election. He needed to wait for a positive easy Republican win of 2010. Toomey NEVER would have won that race that Specter won. Them are the facts there, bub.
The facts about Toomey are that I said that Santorum was "devoted to defeating him and keeping in Specter".
You didn't explain that, why was Santorum so devoted to Specter and against Toomey, that he supported Specter in 2010?

This article from the Inquirer is a fabrication and the idea that CeaseFirePA will change the way Toomey votes is crazy. Toomey knows well that he received very few votes from the Philadelphia area when he was elected, and those votes are from the few remaining good people left in that area. Voting for any gun control is political death wish for Toomey. Gun owners will remember their rights being striped and won't vote or him in the future. Liberals won't vote for him no matter what he does. I am certain Toomey understands that.
I hope people realize that PA's gun laws are on par of TX. There are a million active hunters in PA, and many more gun owners. That's out of a population of 12 million.
I certainly did explain it. Toomey was a loser in 2004 and Specter won the seat. I am proud of Santorum for recognizing that Toomey would have gone down in flames in that race. At the time it was a great move, of course as an armchair analysis, you easily say it was not the right move.
That dynamic didn’t prevent Casey from going over to gun control. It doesn’t hurt to remind Toomey of the price to be paid for doing such.
You didn’t explain it all and are not reading my posts or you would quit with the insults.
You said “He needed to wait for a positive easy Republican win of 2010”.
Why was Santorum against the conservative Toomey, and so for the hard left/pro-abortion Arlen Specter, that Santorum was supporting Specter in the 2010 election?
Ok. I will slow down.
In 2004, Specter and Toomey were in a primary. Because Toomey was unknown. Arlen was the senior senator to Pennsylvania while Santorum was the Junior Senator. The junior senator made the right decision to not go with an unknow and go with the Senior Senator of Pennsylvania ensuring a victory.
2006 a horrible year for Republicans where we lost everything.
2010 a Republican Revolution where Tommey finally had enough name recognition and easy election and he because the Junior Senator of Pennsylvania.
Hope that helps.
Don’t slow down so much that you never answer my question.
Why was Santorum against the conservative Toomey, and so for the hard left/pro-abortion Arlen Specter, that Santorum was supporting Specter against Toomey, in the 2010 election?
Spector was a Democrat in 2010. Toomey barely beat Sestak. Your years are so off. Bush was President when Santorum supported Spector. I am from Pennsylvania and am in the know about these things.
You seem glib and detailed in dismissing Santorum supporting Specter over Toomey in 2004 and barely beating him, and you choose to ignore the fact that Santorum endorsed and campaigned for Specter’s 1996 Presidential campaign to remove pro-life from the republican party.
So what would your explanation be for Santorum supporting Specter over Toomey for the 2010 election?
Will you have an explanation for that if you find out it happened?
Toomey has always been pro-gun. If he falls on this, anyone could be bought out.
NFW.
He didn’t support Spector in 2010 you dumbass.
Dumb would be the guy who doesn’t know that Santorum gave Specter $5,000.00 dollars for reelection for the 2010 Senate race, don’t you think?
“”Republican Presidential candidate and former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum has taken heat from Presidential rivals for his 2004 endorsement of Arlen Specter over the more conservative Pat Toomey in the Republican Presidential primary. Santorum has responded that his endorsement was based upon both the electability of Specter in the general election and a promise from the Republican turned Democrat to support Bush judicial nominees.
But 2010 filings to the Federal Election Commission filings show the former Santorum was supporting Specter well after 2004.
2009 FEC filings from Rick Santorum’s PAC, America’s Foundation, show that Santorum gave $5000 to his former Senate colleague during the critical tidal wave election for Republicans. The donation was made before Specter switched parties. After the switch, Santorum’s PAC donation was returned by the Specter campaign.””
Oh brother. He gave until Specter became a Democrat. I don’t even care about that. Toomey is a DISASTER! Santorum is brilliant to support Specter especially in 2004. I hope Toomey gets his a$$ handed to him in the next election.
Yes he did, the 2010 election. Arlen Specter. Santorum was devoted to Specter including his pro-abortion run for President in 1996
Arlen Specter announces for the White House, with endorsee, Rick Santorum at his side.
At Senator Arlen Specters official presidential campaign announcement in March 1995, then-Senator Rick Santorum showed his public support and encouragement of Specter by sitting directly next to him as Specter denounced the GOPs war on abortion. It was at this event that Specter proclaimed his total opposition to social conservatism and declared he is in fact running to make the GOP pro-choice.
Santorum is seen nodding and applauding at Specters side:
3:46 mark: In 1996, I intend to win the other house the White House with ten commitments to America Especially a womans right to choose
6:40 mark: I pledge to lead the fight to strip the strident anti-choice language from the Republican National platform
17:05 mark: neither this nation nor this party can afford a republican candidate so captive to the demands of the intolerant right...
I don’t care!!!! Told you that before. Santorum is a great conservative family man.
