“Plus I duct taped the plugs into the wall outlets, in case the blast is close enough to shake the house.”

Did you use Lock tight on all the light bulbs?

If we used an EMP over North Korea, would they ever notice?

Ah, that's their tactic. They are not vulnerable.

Now tell me how long before that circle becomes hell on earth?

The minute nobody can use their cell phone?

Life will get kinda rough if/when an EMP knocks out ALL electrical and electronic devices.

Bank ATMs, automobile batteries, home heating thermostats, home computers, telephone service, radio stations, television stations, and on and on.

It wouldn’t take an all out nuclear attack to bring the perpetual American partee to a screeching halt.

But, of course, Obama would blame Bush, or the Republicans, or the Tea Party, or bankers, or gun owners, or anyone and everyone but himself, even if he couldn’t broadcast his asinine speeches over the airwaves any longer.

No one knows what an EMP blast would really do. It might not be as effective as people think. It might be spotty at best. And even if it was bad, our nuke subs would launch and turn North Korea into a cinder. We could launch EMPs on other nations—like Iran, China, etc... The use of these—could go all out. Lets hope all this talk is just hot air—BUT I fear someday someone will be tempted to use one of these things.

You might consider that that center circle is inside the breadbasket of America. That is also what is so affectionately called “Fly Over Country”. Not to mention the center point is awfully close to my front yard!

Interesting article.

What did the North Koreans Put into Orbit?
A satellite, primarily. Plus a third-stage rocket body and two small pieces of debris.

I’m curious, HOW do you propose to power all that stuff WITHOUT electricity? Better own some sizeable generators and lots of fuel if/when the “Red Dawn” actually happens.

what if the blast is a bit closer, and your house is scattered to the wind in a million tiny pieces?

Well then, Ansel12 will never get hungry again. Problem solved.

Solar panels are also massive EMP antennas. Because they are giant diodes with long wires to gather the current, they will be rendered worthless in less than a microsecond.

I don't think anyone really knows what the result would look like if a rogue nation detonated a nuclear device above the U.S.

One thing that is pretty much a certainty, If a rogue nation detonated a nuclear device up above the U.S., there would not be a rogue nation to deal with moments afterward.

NK being provocative is much different than NK being utterly ignorant. They know full well what the aftermath would be for such monumental stupidity. They will likely shoot off a few missiles to intimidate and if war broke out, it would be conventional.

Just my take, I did sleep at a Holiday Inn express last night. lol
