Police in Hamas-ruled Gaza have started grabbing young men with long or gel-styled spiky hair off the streets, bundling them into jeeps, mocking them and shaving their heads, two of those targeted and a rights group said Sunday.
It is the latest sign that the Islamic militants are imposing their strict practices on the population.
Hamas has been slowly forcing its fundamentalist interpretation of the religion on already conservative Gaza since it overran the territory in 2007, but the new crackdown on long hair and tight or low-waist pants—in several cases accompanied by beatings—appears to be one of the most aggressive phases of the campaign so far. …

I’d like to do something similar with kids who wear their pants below their waist. In too many cases, you can practically see their a$$ crack.

Here’s my philosphy: you can do whatever you want as long it does not harm me or mine; don’t try to make me do it - whatever it is, just because you think you know best; don’t proselytize thinking you can change my mind and; don’t make me pay for it.
In other words, just leave me the hell alone and I will do the same. Then we should get along just fine....
I certainly understand. Just pointing out that if that type of people are in control, they’re going to get their point across in a vivid way. We’re headed for that type of government very quickly if we don’t decide to do something. It is coming fast. It won’t be over ponytails, pants or things like that. My only point is that this type of “governing” is going to be brutal and final.
We are WAY beyond the "...just leave me the hell alone..." idea in this country. Not going to happen. We are going to have to choose sides and hope we find a side that believes pretty much as we do. The OTHER side intends to beat their point of view into you...or kill you. I can see it clearly in society now.
I could care less how people keep their hair. Of course I might decide to mock them publicly for their decision but I wouldn’t try to shave em.

Wow, it’s like the 60’s in the USA, where high school principals would hint that it was OK for the boys in the football team to cut the hair of the “longhairs” by force.
Glad we have advanced beyond that rigid conformity here.
The Hamas actions are just enforcing shari’a.
