It wasn’t the hatched job you might think it was. It was pretty balanced in my view

We watched it, knowing her real story, having heard her speak live once, my wife was so furious she almost went all Taliban on our TV.

The movie dissed her for not taking care of her children. The movie never showed her truly great accomplishments, simply left them hanging as if she never did anything great other than be elected. It never addressed how the economy rebounded as a result of her pro free enterprise policies, never addressed her part in taking down the wall of communism and her steel will in understanding how to be a part of bringing down the evil empire, never addressed the cultural revival that happened for a way too short a time under her hand.

But it did show how she was a poor mother, and wife. If you think that was fair and balanced, contact me about this New York bridge I have for sale......

Sorry, it was worse than a hatchet job.

I knew that picture of Mrs. Thatcher was going to turn up sooner or later, and that I would probably ‘lose it’ when I saw it...

Back in 1984, if you had asked Gorbachev and Walesa if they had any chance of outliving Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher, they would have scoffed at the idea.

Her impact on England and indeed the entire world was profound. She will be deeply missed, but she has earned her rest.

Britain had the great Margaret Thatcher, the Iron Lady, one of the greatest politicians of the 20th Century, a great conservative. America has the baby killing, big government, crooked socialist Hillary Clinton, the very type of politician Thatcher fought against her entire life. Long live the memory of this great lady.

First thing I thought of, too.
She’s with President Reagan and Pope John Paul II.

Your photo is touching beyond belief. When they were both with us, there was nothing our two countries could not accomplish. God Speed.

They are celebrating at DU.... it is just sick, of course I would expect that from the left who celebrate their communist icons of death as freedom fighters...

John Paul II and Ronald Reagan have been waiting for her.

I've been thinking that.

I adored her. Too bad logistics and timing prevented her and Dick Cheney from marrying and producing off-spring.

We lost a great one today. She was an absolute hero that saved many from tyranny and with Ronald Reagan and Pope John Paul II destroyed the Evil Empire of the Soviet Union.

To my dying breath, I will feel great joy I lived during the time of the Iron Lady and the Gipper. Two people with class and a love of their countries.

I also feel shame that I am living in a time of traitors who commit treason with their every waking moment.

The FREE world will miss her dearly. From the Socialists on down, not so much.

For those who want to remember her, here are some of her most memorable quotes:

Some great ones.

“I don’t think there will be a woman Prime Minister in my lifetime.” — BBC, March 5, 1975

“If a Tory does not believe that private property is one of the main bulwarks of individual freedom, then he had better become a socialist and have done with it.” — Daily Telegraph, Jan. 30, 1975.

“The Russians are bent on world dominance, and they are rapidly acquiring the means to become the most powerful imperial nation the world has seen. The men in the Soviet politburo don’t have to worry about the ebb and flow of public opinion. They put guns before butter, while we put just about everything before guns. They know that they are a super power in only one sense—the military sense. They are a failure in human and economic terms.” Speech, Jan. 19, 1976 (The Russians would respond by calling her the “Iron Lady.”) —

“Socialist governments traditionally do make a financial mess. They always run out of other people’s money. It’s quite a characteristic of them.” Speech, Feb. 5, 1976
“Pennies don’t fall from heaven, they have to be earned here on earth.” Speech, Nov. 12, 1979

“No one would remember the Good Samaritan if he’d only had good intentions; he had money as well.” Weekend World, Jan. 6, 1980

“Economics are the method; the object is to change the heart and soul.” Sunday Times, May 1, 1981

“I came to office with one deliberate intent: to change Britain from a dependent to a self-reliant society — from a give-it-to-me, to a do-it-yourself nation. A get-up-and-go, instead of a sit-back-and-wait-for-it Britain.” Speech, Feb. 8, 1984

“It was a lovely morning. We have not had many lovely days. And the sun was just coming through the stained glass windows and falling on some flowers right across the church and it just occurred to me that this was the day I was meant not to see.” Channel 4, Oct 15, 1984, following an assassination attempt by the IRA.

“I like Mr. Gorbachev. We can do business together.” — BBC, Dec. 17, 1984

“No. No. No.” — House of Commons, Oct. 30, 1990

Being in power is like being a lady. If you have to remind people you are, you aren’t.
