If you can’t get the fixings for bread you can’t make bread.

Same with ammo.

A lot of people are buying loaded ammo to have on hand with the idea of reloading if possible and not completely making their own ammo from scratch or handloading.

You can’t recover your brass you are SOL no matter how much of everything else you have.

The gun show I attended this weekend showed a huge shift in buyer tolerance. People were laughing and shaking their heads at the ridiculous prices vendors had on everything. Stripped AR lowers for $350, 22lr ammo at $10 a box or more, Ruger 10/22 10 round mags for $35, Glock Clinton mags for $45 (while other vendors had normal capacity mags at $35 ), etc. Unlike shows I attended the first two months of the year, ammo vendors shelves were well stocked — buyers this round weren’t willing to pay their inflated prices. Buyers were mostly holding out for normal prices again and vendors were just getting the memo.

They will learn to keep bread in the freezer and resupply what they use before they run out.

They wont wait to run out of bread then try buying bread after they run out.

Too many people believe they need more practice shooting than they actually need and they burn through a hell of a lot more ammo than they need to for their particular situation which is personal protection.

The ammo supply will come back when people stop burning through their ammo supply.

I heard a similar report from our local guns show.

I hardly ever see anyone at the range with revolvers. That’s why I was curious, military and LE people don’t use them anymore.

When demand eventually decreases, after Odumass leaves office, maybe I’ll be able to afford ammo again.

That's the ONE thing that congress forbade that the EPA can do anything about.

It might be a good thing to check the Migratory Waterfowl Laws/Rules before your next duck hunt.

Here in Missouri the Missouri Department of Conservation has several of their hunting areas that are no lead zones. This even applies to turkey, dove, rabbit hunting lands that the MDC owns.

Older shooters particularly in more rural areas are more likely to have revolvers than younger shooters simply because they were more common when they started shooting.

They probably have some place other than a public range to shoot which could be why you're not seeing them.

That makes sense, except for around where I live

Next year about this time there will be lots of cheap ammo.

You have a lot more confidence in the future of Obama's America than I do.

Though I do hope you're right.

I don’t know why so many people are paying thru the nose to hoard ammo fearing the government is going to ban it when 99% of them will dutifully turn it in if ordered to do so. Those people are easy to ID. Just ask them if they are ready to shoot a cop to keep it. It’s sure not going to be chucky schumer showing up at their door to collect it. It’s going to be the local beat cop pulling down extra pay on SWAT duty with a fusion center.

You pretty much have to be at the store when it opens to get 22LR IF they received a shipment the night before.

I consistently am at Walmart before 7 AM to get a glimmer of chance to catch the restocking. I was luck this AM. Got 100 rds 45ACP, 50 rds of 38+P and 225 rds of Remington 22LR Golden...the ammo received there last night is GONE now. It has been that way pretty much of 3 months now and I see no signs of letting up. Manufacturers literally cannot keep up with demand. It will be 6 months or more before things change, and IF this Senate AWB and mag limit ban gets anywhere, I doubt they’ll ever recover from the demand.

Some online retailers are selling low quality 22 LR for outrageous prices, e.g., CTD has had 500 rds of this kind of ammo for sale at $150 ....I bought 225 rds of 22LR Remington Golden for $9.95 this morning at Walmart (lucky).

When the SHTF, any ammo that isn’t antique caliber will be worth it’s weight similar to precious metals.

While I agree with you, I wouldn’t call it panic for panic’s sake. The fears are real and the intentions of the gun grabbers are more real. These people are out for a total ban on guns and ammo for citizens not aligned with them ideologically.

True dat....why blow off an expensive box of mags for practice? Shoot a hundred rounds of special and then a speed loader or two’s worth of mags for a finish-up

I show up at Walmart almost everyday before 7 AM. But, I am in no way selling any of this online or in person to someone else. I suspect many of the ones I see are doing this, but not me. I’m topping off all the rounds I have guns and storage space for. I don’t think supplies will make it to 2014, and if we lose the House, it’s all bets off.

Industry sources are too optimistic and have vested interests in keeping advance orders up, etc..

Since the capitulation a couple of days ago of 16 Republican Senators on the Cloture option for the upcoming bill on gun control, the chances of the Democrats passing it have markedly increased.

It then only gets down to how many RINO House Congressmen will fold and how many concessions Boehner (I said ‘how many’ not ‘if’).

Folks, we are on the brink (at the minimum) of a Universal Background Checks bill, possibly coupled with a magazine limit or some combination of all the options that RINOs can vote for that includes registered ammo purchase, ammo purchase limits, etc.

If this happens, the shortage will be permanent..mark my words this day.

I have quite a bit of revolvers. My daughter has a 357 S&W magnum with 6 inch barrel....she is a deadeye shot with it at 20 yards (about the max on the range we use)..

It is more accurate than any of the other semis (anywhere from 22LR, magnum, 380, 9mm, 45ACP, etc.) I have that she’s shot, and that is what counts, and she can do it in single action or double action mode.

I’ve got two pistols aWalther P22 and a RugerP97 in.45. I really like the Ruger. I’ve got a couple .38s a.44Mag and a .30M1 Blackhawks. I prefer revolvers they’re cheaper to shoot and easier to clean

Republicans ARE going to lose the House in 2014. Last night I happen to catch a segment of Hugh Hewitt’s radio show where he was saying Republicans will lose in 2014. Unbridled tyranny at that point. It might as well be that way now because of having one of the weakest Speakers of the House ever in crybaby Boehner.

Hewitt is a Blue skys, rainbows, and Unicorns RINO who usually refuses to acknowledge the obvious, and if he is saying it’s lost.........it’s really lost.
