Go to the original document and watch the video. Anyone remember Detroit 40+ years ago. I still cannot believe what has happened here.

My only issue is that not all of Detroit is a disaster area. Some neighborhoods are quite safe. I saw a story a while back about Jim Leyland walking some 15 blocks to work every day the Tigers play in Detroit.

the MSM is totally silent on this.

Where is the film crew showing the desolation, the depressing abandoned lost city of Detroit?

"No police, citizens are leaving because crime is very high," the Detroit Police Department's Sgt. John Bennett said. "Those who can leave, are able to leave, they are leaving. Course there are some who cannot leave."

They're turning whats left of Ohio into a carbon copy of Detroit.

But it sure is a perfect example of a Progressive success story .... ended up just as planned .... now they are ready to start on the next 50 biggest cities now that they have proved their methods of operation.

Anyone remember Detroit 40+ years ago. I still cannot believe what has happened here.

Forty years ago I was a young man working in the marketing division of General Motors at the GM Building. Everything was booming and our greatest fear was that the Justice Department would declare us a monopoly if we exceed 50% market share.

It was like a golden age, until the gas shortage of 1973. GM was unable to respond to the new reality and started the slow downward drift. And along with it Detroit.

A little humor from my email:

> This from a family member who lives in AZ.
>
> Homesick Snowbird
>
> I was in Mesa the other day and I saw a bumper sticker on a parked car that read: “I miss Chicago .”

>
> So, I broke the window, stole the radio, shot out two of the tires, added an Obama bumper sticker and left a note that read, “I hope this helps!”

I was on a business trip to Detroit-area recently. Rented a car and drove around. Tried to find the worst, most decayed area possible. Any suggestions?

Anyway, looks no different from, Cleveland, Philly, or the East side of Buffalo.

The commie governor Granholm stole billions of dollars from productive Michigan communities and property owners and poured the loot into her Detroit “Cool Cities” program. I want my money back, you slimy, thieving whore.

And all you left wing yuppie peckerheads who are living in converted lofts in Detroit, that’s my money that paid for them, and I want my money back. The same with you thieves in construction. That was stolen money that paid your wages and profits, you fat, thieving sows, and I want my money back.

Detroit owes the rest of Michigan billions of dollars.

looks no different from, Cleveland,

The church I was baptized in, and the one I grew up in, and the two grade schools I attended, all gone.

Just got a notice the high school I attended is closing in June.

Will the last one out, pls turn off the lights...assuming Cleveland Public Power still has any juice....

Don’t worry. They will solve the problem by moving the residents to the suburbs, paid for by you with “food stamps” “section 8” and refusal to prosecute the thefts, rapes, and murders that will definitely follow.
