This is a northeast suburb of Atlanta in Gwinnett County
SUWANEE Five Gwinnett County firefighters are being held hostage at home in Suwanee.
Gwinnett County police spokesman Cpl. Edwin Ritter said that, as of 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, a gunman was holding the handful of firefighters hostage at a home at 2440 Walnut Grove Way, not far from the intersection of Collins Hill and Taylor roads.
"It appears that the fire department responded to this residence for some type of medical call," Ritter said. "I have very little information on the motive at this time."
The police department's SWAT team was on scene.
Wow! Not 2 miles from my house, but maybe 5-7. Thanks for the link.
Don’t Drone me Bro...
...residence on Walnut Grove Way. The area is near Collins Hill Road and Taylor Road, near Collins Hill High.
Didn’t you run out with a camera to inflame the cop? (I hope the firefighters are safe.)
Sounds like a DV call. Rescue usually waits until LEO clears the scene. Sounds like protocol wasn’t followed, or else it was an ambush from the get-go.
Firefighters being held hostage
Drove past it on my normal way home and no kidding must be 50 cop cars on the scene.
I wonder if the cops will “Dorner” the house? Oh wait, the ff will just extinguish the blaze, darn.
Seems that someone called the paramedics and then kidnapped them when they arrived.
At least the Firemen can deal with SWAT’s “burners.”

Live WSB TV
WSB TV reporter says a man called 911 and claimed to be having a heart attack.
That sent the paramedics. They were taken hostage when they entered the residence.
Residence is said to be in foreclosure. Unknown whether that has anything to do with this hostage situation.
WSB TV reports that 1 firefighter has been released. Other 4 are still being held.
