I’ve never paid much attention to Tommey, and mostly took everyone’s word that he was better than Specter (although I did take an occasional look at him to refresh my memory of who he was over the years), who I despise, I assume that Toomey has to be better than Specter though.
I have been in some arguments today with people who preferred Specter and were glad that Santorum was supporting him (Specter) during the 2010 cycle, which I find kind of mind blowing, regardless of today’s news.
I do not live in Pennsylvania, but I strongly preferred Toomey in 2004 and 2010. But I like to admit when I was wrong. Toomey is no better than Specter, and probably a bit worse than Specter. That’s a tough pill to swallow.
