Social conservatives warn Priebus they could abandon GOP

A group of high-profile social conservatives warned Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus in a letter this week that their supporters could abandon the GOP if the party seeks to change its position on social issues, particularly same-sex marriage.

Thirteen social conservatives, representing various influential groups, wrote Priebus ahead of the RNC's quarterly meeting this week in Los Angeles to sternly rebuke the conclusions of a post-election report that advised Republican elected officials to adopt a softer tone toward social issues.

"We respectfully warn GOP Leadership that an abandonment of its principles will necessarily result in the abandonment of our constituents to their support," concludes the letter, which was obtained by and independently verified by NBC News in advance of the meeting this week.

The letter further asks GOP committeemen to pass a resolution at their meeting this week re-affirming the party's 2012 national platform, which includes language calling for bans on abortion and same-sex marriage.

Nothing about their actions tells me they seek to win anything. I firmly believe enough of them really believe they are securing their place (and for their families) at the seat of the table of the NWO or whatever you want to call what is coming. The post United States as we knew it world.

I didn’t bother warning him before I left. I didn’t think he’d care.

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus should be made aware that we have a list of traitors that need to be hanged, and he’s in the top one-hundred.

I had a shill freepmail me last week railing on me for holding the GOP to account. He has plenty just like him. They refuse to hold feet to fire after all the screaming they did about doing that very thing over Romney.

FR is filled with liberals. That’s the ugly truth. Because when you have fits about people holding ‘feet to fire’ over liberal actions by the GOP, what else can be said?

And the GOP counts on their lib ass kissers to keep strife at a high level at conservative sites across the web. By design.

They do not realize, the milk toast “moderates” they say they are trying to attract will not work for the party, they don’t have the passion. They lose us, they stand for nothing, they will be nothing.. might as well vote for the dems.. I see a third party sooner rather than later

The letter further asks GOP committeemen to pass a resolution at their meeting this week re-affirming the party's 2012 national platform, which includes language calling for bans on abortion and same-sex marriage.

Massachusetts Governor (gave us "gay marriage") Romney asked about the Republican party's platform on abortion:

PELLEY: Well, the platform as written at this convention for the Republicans does not allow for exceptions on abortion with regard to the health of the mother or rape or incest. Is that where you are?

ROMNEY: No. My position has been clear throughout this campaign. I’m in favor of abortion being legal in the case of rape and incest, and the health and life of the mother.

Social conservatives are correct to ask if the Republican Party permanently changed it's positions in 2012, on many issues.

I had a couple folks going after me last night for not liking Grassley’s “moderate” gun control bill.

They told me to “get a grip,” and “take a pill.” In other words, more than an insinuation that I’m crazy to be concerned. The kicker is that they then told me not to worry because the lists would only be used against crazy people!

:-)

And what the GOP is doing now is different how? Lots of tough talk and then cave after cave. End result, Dems win. So Hillary would be different how? They get what they want now.

Why EVERY Patriotic American isn’t fleeing the GOP is beyond me...

I thought Reince (R, WI) would do us more good than harm.

Turns out I was wrong...

That will never happen because it can't happen.

We can, however, decapitate one of the two existing national parties and replace that unit with one more to our liking.

I prefer creating a NEW NATIONAL COMMITTEE and asking the state parties to send delegates to an organizing meeting.

Without social conservatism, there is no right, and no GOP.

Yea...who RP personally tanked over a stupid statement. Hell. if that was the qualification to get funding pulled, the GOP would have lotsa cash sitting there as there would be no one to send it to.

I just LOVE how Orwellian they have become. Makes me all warm and fuzzy.

The GOPe is not conservative. The claim of the delusional among US that one can be fiscally conservative while being socially liberal is not possible. Social liberalism in reality means every person will be required to pay the price and consequences of all manner of sins and crimes against The Creator that owns all. It does appear history has taught the majority nothing and it, history is being repeated. Deception is at critical mass, and the hill is almost topped for the downhill slide.
