Rat pol cuffed; Perjury rap for Assembly informant Castro (Votino fraud alert)

Dominican Republican native Nelson Castro was arraigned on a perjury charge--Castro lied under oath, denying knowing his own campaign workers who boosted Castro's election chances using Votino Fraud---registering numerous illegal Dominicans to vote at home addresses. Democrat Castro got wired to save himself, and over four years recorded crooked legislators taking bribes--one was taped actually "selling" legislation. Castro is cooperating in investigations of corrupt pols — a revelation that has rocked Albany. He was released without bail.

Castro's woes began in 2008 when the Bd of Elections began examining Castro’s eligibility to run for office after allegations surfaced that numerous illegal DOminican voters were registered at his home address and at the home of campaign worker, Dominican Steve Santana. During a 2008 hearing, Castro lied under oath, denying he knew the votino fraudster---and Desdemona Cruz who was on the candidate-selection committee that anointed Castro--intent on putting Dominican natives on the ballot to increase latino power in Albany. Castro had forged signatures on petitions to earlier seek office as a district leader.

CASTRO’S LIFE OF CRIME NOT A PROBLEM-—Castro’s extensive rap sheet was apparently not considered a deterrent for office. The candidate selection committee used corrupt Dominican standards-—a Third World satrap where everything is for sale.

<><> a 1989 felony arrest in Michigan for larceny. Michigan court records show that 19-year old Castro pled guilty to a misdemeanor conspiracy and was sentenced to 180 days probation.

<><> In 2003, Castro was arrested again in New York, this time for grand larceny. He was accused of pocketing $4,900 in unemployment checks while holding a job. He pled guilty to petty larceny, repaid the money and was slapped with three years probation.

<><> Then in March 2008, Castro was arrested a third time — for driving in East Harlem with a revoked license and as a scofflaw who owed more than $3,000 in parking tickets.

Even more disturbing revelations followed—lying under oath, votino fraud, and forging petitions for public office.

Scrutinize Castro's legislative district bank accounts for suspicious activites: (A) large deposits, (B) funds transferred from one account into another, (C) request for withdrawals.

The federation has ties to almost every Hispanic lawmaker in The Bronx, including Rivera, but primarily benefits two men: political strategist Luis Miranda, who co-founded it and once served as its president, and Roberto Ramirez, a former Bronx Democratic Party boss. The men run a private political consulting firm, the MirRam Group. It’s paid by the Hispanic Federation and is hired by politicians who steer taxpayer money to the nonprofit.

A NY Post investigation has found:

<><><>* The Hispanic Federation paid MirRam and Miranda Towns, a firm registered to Miranda and his wife, $681,644 between 1999 and 2008 for “consulting,” records show.

<><><>* In 2005, the federation paid MirRam $88,000 to survey Latinos on topics including the mayor’s race. At the same time, MirRam was paid $1.37 million by Fernando Ferrer, then a mayoral candidate.

<><><>* Ramirez and Miranda gave political allies jobs at the nonprofit. Ex-Secretary of State Lorraine Cortez Vazquez, who had been Ramirez’s chief of staff, made more than $180,000 a year there.

<><><>* The Hispanic Federation paid MirRam $33,000 this year to lobby the City Council, records show.

Miranda launched the Hispanic Federation in 1990, the year Ramirez won an Assembly seat in Fordham. Ramirez left politics in 2000 and handed the party reins to Assemblyman José Rivera in 2002---father of voted-out Assemblyman/sexpot Naomi.

Hispanic insiders say that if you want influence in The Bronx, you have to deal with the Hispanic Federation and, by extension, MirRam consultants. Nonprofits, for instance, pay the Hispanic Federation to do their bookkeeping.

Dominican Espaillat sucked up 100 “member items” as an assemblyman, including $500,000 public monies for his nonprofit, the grandiously named, “Northern Manhattan Coalition for Economic Development.” (NOTE: “Member items” is a nauseating extortion scam for greedy NY state legislative members).

DOMINICAN KNOWN AS SENATOR PORK FBI agents want to know about Democrat Espillat’s use of public monies for “needy groups” that employed a covey of Dominican Republic natives including Espaillat’s sister-in-law, a Democratic district leader and several campaign consultants.

FBI scrutiny comes as Espaillat’s ex-COS (once-elected to the Assembly—now resigned in disgrace) admits he got wired for the FBI. Nelson Castro, a Dominican Republic native, got wired to save himself—he lied to the FBI WRT a parade of Dominican Republic illegals corrupting the US election system—unlawfully registered to vote using Castro’s address.

Espillat zipped his lips when asked whether Dominican native Castro assisted in FBI probes of Espaillat.
