With thanks to centermass for the original idea:
I suggest that Rand Paul offer the following Amendment to the Gun Control Anti-Bill-Of-Rights legislation before the Senate:
"Any background checks, documentation, restrictions, waiting periods, or any other restrictions of this legislation on a citizen's G-d-given Second Amendment Rights must be equally applied to each citizen's right to VOTE and SPEAK."
If Liberals are going to destroy our G-d-Given and Constitutional rights, let's equally gore their ox. There is no logic to their position, of course, and putting the identical restriction on their pet rights will prove their hypocrisy.
Can anyone get this idea to a pro-Bill-of-Rights Senator in time to make a difference?
Mmmm.... equally applied laws.
I like it.
I would also like to see a law applied to all “journalists” and newspapers/media to show that they are qualified, capable and have a “need” to do what they do.
The howling would be laughable.
FYI. Thanks for the prompt.
Liberals claim minorities cannot easily obtain photo IDs, and therefore it is discrimination to demand a photo ID for voting. If we had any creative minds in the GOP, they would ask why is it not racist to demand a person ID himself for a firearms purchase. Or to board an airplane. Or to drive a car.

Trying to use logic against those who dismiss all logic is as futile as screaming at a mountain for being inthe way of the setting sun....
Pass any damned law you want .. as long as an ammendment demanding equal background checks for voters is attached.
The dims will never let it come to the floor.
BUMP!!!
Unfortunately my Senators from MD would be of no help at all but I’ll drop them a line anyway :)
...and for politicians to get their names on ballots. If you’re not safe to handle a firearm, you’re not safe to weild the power of government - a much more dangerous invention.
weild —> wield
I like it too.
I like this idea !
Also, Bobby Rush of IL is a convicted felon yet is writing gun laws. He could not buy a gun if he wanted to. In what world does this make any sense?
Bump for a great idea!
We the people need to grow a pair and eliminate these treasonous b@stards.
The astounding silence of any argument against a tax on a civil right is deafening.
These rents on a right are no different from a poll tax.
Introduce an amendment to the Anti-Bill-Of-Rights bill in the Senate that taxes each word uttered.
Why not?
Taking your mouth across state borders? You need a reason. That’s interstate commerce in lip-gloss, at least.
Sending an email? You have a waiting period. The government needs time to determine whether you are a good risk.
Calling Grandma? Better go to the Federal Verbal Instant Background Check system first! You might have cried “Fire!” in a crowded theater in the past.
