CA Crime Skyrockets in Wake of Brown's Prison Release Plan [Brown kills poor to raise taxes]

In 2011, Governor Jerry Brown signed into law California Assembly Bill 109, a piece of legislation designed to relieve overcrowded prisons in accordance with a Supreme Court decision. AB 109 enshrined “realignment” into law – a plan to place supposedly “non-violent, non-serious, and non-sex offenders” in county jails rather than state prisons. In other words, local governments were handed the problem of prisoners the state didn’t want to hold. On January 8, 2013, Brown said, “we’ve gone from serious constitutional problems to one of the finest prison systems in the United States.”

When he came into office, he said we had plenty of money and even added new entitlement programs such as the California Dream act.

The Democrats are doing what conservatives have suspected they would do if given the chance. They are emptying the prisons while passing legislation to disarm the citizens.

In my county, six people were released, with in 24 hours they kidnapped a man and tortured him to death.
Non sexual offenders-hah!, sexual offenders are being released daily.

More criminals, more crime. According to statistics from the Los Angeles County Sheriff and Probation Departments, burglaries have increased dramatically, from 175% in Hawaiian Gardens to 45% in South Los Angeles to 50% in Compton; auto theft is up 365% in Artesia, 100% in Marina Del Rey, and 92% in Bellflower. The Criminal Justice Legal Foundation reports that in the six-month period after realignment, California’s crime rates rose across the board, including a 7.6% jump in homicide. The recent Northridge boarding house murderer, who killed four people execution style, was out thanks to realignment. Tobias Dustin Summers, wanted for kidnapping a 10-year-old Southern California girl, was out due to realignment.

How could anyone, anyone, not see this coming? And, one fears that ... you ain't seen nuthin' yet.

Hoping to be in error...

How could anyone, anyone, not see this coming?

Certainly not the people that enacted this policy. They want high street crime. The fear and disorder created by the common street criminal is the perfect distraction for the real criminals in the halls of power.

If they are non-violent and non-serious, why are they crimes?

The fact that there is a punitive law against a behavior would indicate, on its face, that it is a serious behavior with bad consequences.

Does anyone have Brown’s home address?

(I’d like to write him a note.)

It is my understanding that very little rehab goes on in the Private Prisons like counseling or education. Perhaps a percentage of payment for each prisoner should be withheld until the released prisoner has NOT reoffended for 5 years. This could incentivise prison administrators to cure criminals rather then send them out as bad as before.

I just checked. As of January 1, 2013, there have been 21 stabbings in the city of Chico. There were 12 stabbings in all of 2012. Not too long ago (within the past couple of weeks) I read that the liberals in control of CA claimed that violent crime was down. The U.S. is destroying itself from the inside. We must find a way to turn things around, or lose everything.

It’s a big circle jerk. Higher crime means more laws to ‘protect’ you, more free-citizen weapon control to ‘protect’ you, more funding for law enforcement to ‘protect’ you, in essence more sacrificing of your liberty for your ‘protection’. Big problem is that the police, their departments, the city, counties, states, Feds, all are under NO Constitutional obligation to protect any individual citizen. None. Nada. Besides, it appears that increasing crime in progressive controlled areas has little effect on the continued election of progressive leadership. One big circle jerk.......

I’m sure the number of illegal offenders in the CA prison system is at least 40%.

To #11: To reach Gov. Brown, just address the envelope as:

Governor ShitForBrains
Sacramento, California

The Post Office will know it’s for him.

Dump the people on the various counties and let the counties have to pay for the “housing”. Certainly remove a lot of financial burden on the state now doesn’t it?

Those bastards will do anything within their power to dump on “We, the people”.

Hey, Moonbeam went to China, ignoring human rights violations, so he can build a multi-billion $ bullet train to nowhere. Problem solved.

San Jose had 53% more car thefts in Jan-Feb of this year——right after the release of prisoners in December.

San Jose mayor puts the blame squarely onto the prisoner releases.
