A suspicious package found to contain explosive material and addressed to Maricopa County, Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio was intercepted by authorities in Flagstaff Thursday.
The box was addressed to Arpaio at his Phoenix headquarters, Maricopa County Sheriff's Office officials said in a statement obtained by Fox News.

Is Bill Ayers missing his bomb-building days in the Weathermen?
This is classic “Destabilization.” Anybody notice the sudden surge of state/local officials getting murdered?
Reminds me of LA County coroners official, Michael Cormier.
One year ago, they said he was Rushed to the hospital with suspected arsenic poisoning, then died.
Apparently that was within hours of the Breitbart autopsy report getting released by the same LA Coroners office on the same day.
Can anybody find an update on that story? I cannot.
No biggie.... Coroners get poisoned to death with zero investigation every day.
Did the return address say “Department of Justice?”
I’d check on the whereabouts of Eric Holder and Janet Napolitano when the package was sent.
This article about Cormier is dated Nov 30, 2012. They are really tap-dancing. They want you to think it was suicide by arsenic poisoning. Yeah, right.
A right-wing media star drops dead a coroners technician dies weeks later right-wing blogs erupt! Seven months later, we know the technician died from arsenic poisoning. But who did it? And why? Christine Pelisek reports.
In the early afternoon of April 18, 2012, Michael Cormier, an autopsy technician at the Los Angeles coroners office, drove himself to Kaiser Permanente Hospital complaining of heart and stomach pain and diarrhea. The doctors suspected a heart issue or an ulcer and recommended he follow up with his regular physician. Two days later, Cormier asked his wife to call 911. An ambulance took him Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, where he died several hours later from massive organ failure.
While he was at Providence St. Joseph, an unidentified family member called and recommended that the hospital check Cormier for poison. A screen test found a significant amount of arsenic in Cormiers system, and the hospital contacted the Los Angeles Police Department. In the early stages of the investigation into Cormiers death, the police wouldnt rule out an accident, suicide, or something more nefarious, and the coroner deferred the cause of death pending further toxicology results.
In all, it was not a remarkable set of circumstances, but Cormiers death made national news when numerous right-wing blogs linked it to the death of Andrew Breitbart, the conservative media juggernaut and Tea Party hero who had died on March 1 at the age of 43.
SNIP
Last Monday, the coroners office released its findings on Cormiers official cause of death: he was indeed killed by extremely high amounts of arsenic in his system, said Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter. He had a history of heart problems, but it was the arsenic that killed him.
Still, neither the coroner nor the police can figure out how so much arsenic got into Cormier in the first place. We dont know if it was given to him or self-ingested, Winter said. We cant prove he took it himself, or we cant prove someone gave it to him. His autopsy report is scheduled to be released in the next few weeks.
Any postmarks on the package would be important. I’d be interested in knowing where it was mailed from.
I hope nobody is under the misapprehension that we DO NOT live in the Soviet Union.
Link below is to the first article. Notice in the first article it's the coroner who tells them he think he's being poisoned. In the second article an anonymous family member calls in to suggest poisoning. Weird. The whole story is weird.
Police Debunk Theories Linking Breitbart, L.A. Coroner Tech Deaths
Cormier was first hospitalized on April 18, complaining of abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. Doctors suspected he had a perforated bowel but released him anyway, though not before Cormier told them he thought someone had tried to poison him.
The following day, Cormiers stomach pain continued, and he was taken by ambulance to St. Josephs, where he suffered three heart attacks, according to a law-enforcement source. When an initial toxicology test proved questionable and Cormier later died, the hospital notified the coroners office.
Don’t know if they are related but here is the timeline.

Worked in postal service there (15 years) and this isn’t the first discovered. Says route driver picked up from a drop so its a local most likely.

Gateway Pundit links the attempted assassination of Sheriff Arpaio to the Cold Case Posse Obama BC investigation
Assassination Attempt: Suspicious Package Containing Explosive Material Sent to Arizona Sheriff Arpaio
Probably sent by a left winger... which means the New York Times won’t touch this story with a ten foot pole....
How can the Associated Press resist the opportunity to drag Arpaio's name through the mud all the more by snidely raising perhaps the most salacious and condemning detail of all?
Surely they're not unaware of the MCSO Cold Case Posse investigation? Surely they're not trying to shield the sheriff from what they would consider unnecessary embarrassment? They're not scared, are they? Surely they're not scared that if the "kook birthers" garner improved visibility for their mission that it will begin to take on momentum sufficient to represent a legitimate political (daresay legal) threat to their beloved president?
I can only assume the AP writers believe the perpetrators were acting in service to a noble pursuit like the defense of marauding illegal immigrants or key increases in gun control or the total cessation of punishment for the criminal acts of thugs when the real problems should instead be blamed on failures of "the system", i.e. the village of law abiding citizens. Therefore, these conscientious journalists had to take care to bestow only the highest honor upon the valiant deeds of those bombers by not diluting the tale of their mighty struggle for lofty ideals with thoughts of trivial, meaningless certifigate kookery that bears no threat worthy of violent rebellion or even threats in the first place.
. . .
On the other hand maybe they are just a little bit spooked by the Cold Case Posse Investigation, and want to keep it from surfacing as long as they can . . . just in case? Nope, I can't go there; I've already given in to my wishful thinking a few times too many for one week. :-)
