Well, I sure do hope you are right.

It seems a sickness blankets the DC, our representatives forgot why we sent them there.

Absolutely, that is no idle threat. The Republicans can kiss the House good bye and they can forget about ever being a majority — ever. Who needs “Republicans” who keep selling us down the river in the name of compromise?

Forget it. Threaten me all you want about how bad it’s going to be if so and so DEmocrat gets elected or gains the majority... I don’t care. You should have thought about that at times like these. Never again.

NV FReepers. You need to contact your reps and let them know that there should be NO compromise on this issue. I already fired off to Mark Amodei and let him know how displeased I am with hellers actions and he needs to step up to protect our rights from further intrusion. Don’t let up. Keep hammerin’.

Once again it’s the republicans running for cover. They figure if they get some kind of bill passed the issue will go away. I’ll never vote for another one.

Oh, it is going to pass. The fix is already in. As far as the GOP base supporting the GOP goes, you can forget about that also. Shortly after the bill becomes law the GOP “base” will either be in jail or the graveyard.

Mr. King needs to look up the meaning of the words: shall not be infringed.

There is nothing to “debate” about the Second
Amendment. The meaning is clear.

Any attempt to infringe, compromise, debate, or
in any way change it’s meaning other than through
a constitutional amendment process is an attempt
to subvert the constitution.

That’s my take anyway.

The second amendment is not a check on the people,
it is a check on government and a government that
attempts to interfere with it voids it’s warranty
as it were.

Peter King: NRA rated "D".

Mike Thompson: NRA rated "C+".

Must be absolute communist tyrants, for even the NRA to give them bad grades.

Here’s a compromise -

First, let’s have background checks on presidents.

And presidential cabinet members.

And senators and congressmen.

And presidential appointees.

Yes, you are right. Glad that you extended on my comments. This is crazy to even had this debated as they are doing.

Most of us know it is unconstitutional. They are conditioning the public to soften their views and by having the control over us (we, the people) they do so.

Now, they are tripping over themselves to bring up more laws which are unconstitutional infringements. Not only are the leftists attacking us, we have sell outs working with them to make it happen. They are traitors; it's reality.

“If GOP controlled House passes a House version of Manchin-Toomey (now it seems Feinstein’s reviving the AWB), they can forget about a significant support from the base.

And no idle threat.”

To be totally serious, if the House passes a version of the Manchin-Toomey bill, they are telling us there is one party. In that case, why in the world would we bother supporting the right wing of the Democrat/communist party?

How about if I ‘find’ a gun, and offer to return it to its original owner, of course gratefully accept a $599.95 (or, whatever) ‘reward’ for my efforts?

Under the Toomey bill, you committed a Federal Felony for failing to obtain a background check before picking up the "found" gun, and you and the "rightful owner" both committed another felony for failing to obtain a background check before transferring the firearm from yourself to the "owner."

The $599.95 "reward" could be zero and you'd still have committed a felony.

The GOP Elites would have no problem with this.

How about logistics? It is impossible to confiscate 300M (and growing) guns* and 120B rounds of ammunition even if you used every sworn officer in the country and had 50 years.

*Stated another way, 1.8 billion pounds of guns, or, 900 Nimitz-class aircraft carriers. Someone else figure-out how much 120B rounds of ammo weighs.

Agreed. If anything similar to this garbage is even considered by the leadership, I am done. Completely done with the GOP. They can go to hell.
