Some locales have 'unlawful assembly' statutes on the books, and would happily use them to deploy the water cannon or worse.
I think what Jim's proposing is a show of numbers rather than a show of force.
For the former, playing within the 'rules', however unconstitutional and/or distasteful, will attract larger turnouts.
For the latter, should it eventually come to that, there'll be no rules.
While I understand, tomkat, and agree....I think it’s gone past that point now.
I keep thinking of what our forefathers did....and how they’d be ripping us all a new one (’scuse the near-profanity) for what we’ve allowed to happen in our country.
That’s all.
ANOTHER THING! I know some of these bozo’s are going to continue to be elected over and over again...but what about ON TOP OF THIS...a national recall campaign against them?
Let 'em. It's time we stepped up our opposition to the tyranny now raining down on us. The enemy is literally shredding the Constitution before our eyes, and you're worried about violating some 'unlawful' assembly ordinance? Phooey!
We'd better wake up and realize that simply rallying together isn't nearly enough to get the attention of the traitors. We're going to have to be big, loud, ever-present - and we're going to have to engage in lots of overt civil disobedience to get the damn Commies to back off.
