DENVER - A judge has set a hearing to narrow down when Nathan Dunlap could be executed for killing four people at a Chuck E. Cheese restaurant in 1993.
The Denver Post reports Denver Post Story a judge has scheduled a hearing May 1 to designate the week of execution. By state law, the designated week must be between 91 and 126 days of the hearing at which the week is chosen. The head of the state Department of Corrections would set the final execution date.
The U.S. Supreme Court in February declined to hear Dunlap's death penalty appeal, clearing the way to set an execution date.
Records show Dunlap's attorneys have been in contact with the office of Gov. John Hickenlooper, who could grant Dunlap clemency.
Colorado last executed someone in 1997.

If we only had stricter gun control laws back then these victims may be alive. sarc/
Damn straight! (sarcasm on your sarcasm)
20 years... Justice delayed is justice denied.
Very true, but a little bit quicker (keeping fingers crossed) than that one the other day that was executed in Florida for bashing that little girl’s skull in in 1980.
Larry Mann executed for Palm Harbor girl’s 1980 killing

If Chicken Cooper decides to grant clemency then the faux concern for shooting victims will be made plain.
1993 to 2013! That’s 20 years too long.
In the late 70s, my cousin’s 8 year old daughter was abducted, molested and killed. The murderer was caught in only 2 days, confessed, stated he enjoyed it so much that he would do it again if he ever had the chance, but then sat on death row in Tennessee for 24 years before the appeals and money from liberal anti-death penalty idiots ran out.
My cousin and her family suffered every day waiting for the state to execute this scum.
20 years later?
And was he executed?
The two money sentences in the story;
“Records show Dunlap’s attorneys have been in contact with the office of Gov. John Hickenlooper, who could grant Dunlap clemency.”
“Colorado last executed someone in 1997.”
If Hickenlooper really has higher political ambitions, he will grant clemency, using the second sentence as an excuse.
YES. Lethal injection.
I suggest they recruit Aurora killer James Holmes as a witness.
