Something bad must be going on there if both the FBI and the IRS showed up was a common reaction. The show of force by the Department of Justice seemed to indicate such.
But the show of force elicited another response.
This is the kind of stuff that goes on in Russia, a conservative friend said, labeling the shutdown politically motivated.

A couple of years ago another Tennessee business was raided over a rather odd reason. Remember the Gibson Company raids as in the guitar maker?

Pilot is one of the biggest sellers of fuel in America.....and I wonder which one of their rivals bribed the Obama Admin to go after them?
If Pilot is forced to shut down or downsize .....the price of everything goes up. They keep fuel prices as low as possible

The Republican governor of Tennessee’s family owns Pilot Oil. It’s a private owned company. He recently turned down expansion of Obamacare in the state through expansion of Medicaid. I think that happened last week.

Could this be related to Tennessee Governor Haslam NOT embracing Obamacare?

Could this be related to Tennessee Governor Haslam NOT embracing Obamacare? Timing was rather odd wasn't it? And which party did Gibson donate too? Which party did Gibson's competition donate too? Tennessee GOP has both state house with a huge majority plus the governors office. DEM's up till recently had controlled the state legislature for decades.

So where are Tennessee’s two intrepid GOP Senators in all of this?

Gibson finally admitted guilt, though.
Actually they paid a $300,000 "penalty" to avoid criminal charges. Just your typical Leftist shakedown of a producer. It was cheaper to pay the fine than fight the charges. And as an added bonus Uncle Sugar got to keep all the exotic wood they seized. I wonder who ended up with that???

It was a shakedown.
Gibson did not contribute to 0bama's election fund so a message was delivered that you better donate or else.
It is the Chicagoland way.
