BOSTON (WHDH) -- Photos sent to 7News by a viewer show the scene just before and right after the bombs went off on Boylston Street.
7News has provided these pictures to the FBI as they continue their investigation. They are looking at the pictures to see if it's possible it could be the second bomb.
In the first picture you can see a bag next to a mailbox and up against a barricade along the marathon route. In the second, which we have blurred because it is very graphic, there is no sign of the bag. The viewer who took the pictures says there may be an hour or more between when the first and second pictures were taken.
A different series of pictures sent to 7News by another viewer have been handed over to the FBI as well.
A man took the images from his office above Boylston Street and they show the moments right after one of the explosions.
You can see almost everyone is frozen, a many crouching on the ground, stunned or injured. But one man is acting very differently from everyone else. You can see he is running away from the scene.

I just saw a picture posted on twitter of a guy with a backpack at the site. Look like it came from a security camera.
Trying to find it so I can link it. Might not be legit but the guy (white guy... looked like a crazy, unkempt etc.) was carrying it on his arm like it was heavy.
I don’t think the people in green are the same person. Top pic is clearly gray haried the bottom is considerably darker and doesn’t look like dirt or smoke.
I don’t think that white bag is the bomb.. Note backpack remnant in lower right portion of photo. This doesn’t square with the ‘man in blue and man in white cap’ situation though.. Confusing.
You may be right. The time frame between those two pictures is a big unknown as well.
I didn't notice it at first, but yes, it appears the water bottles are green (I thought it was a layer of clothing at first glance). She's holding at least two in each hand between her fingers.
Scorch marks appear to be directly away from mailbox, which are bolted down. Concussion reflected off that flat face would have yielded a double dose of heat.
OK, it was swept twice, but there was no on-going security?
I am not looking to point fingers, but address items that could be used in an After Action Report.
Consider how the Army, when on patrol, are constantly scanning the perimeter. If something is out of place, which that bag clearly is, action is taken. Think road-side bomb.
Maybe that is what we have to do now for major events, have somebody(s) walking the event route, scanning for unattended items.
