Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker surges to top of GOP 2016 list
Washington Examiner ^ | April 18, 2013 | by Paul Bedard

He doesn't get the attention of the Sunday talk shows, or Washington's political elite, but the Midwest's dragon slayer, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, is emerging in some Republican circles as the surprising favorite to win the GOP nomination for president in 2016.

Untainted by scandal, far from Washington's voter-frustrating gridlock, and reinvigorated by his victory over foes who staged a recall vote, the conservative Walker is also viewed as the best candidate to sop up the Midwest white vote which, had Mitt Romney done better there, would have catapulted him into the Oval Office.

This looks good:
Voter ID Law
On May 25, 2011, Walker signed a Voter ID Law that required voters to show a government-issued ID before casting a ballot.[79] The ACLU filed a lawsuit in federal court to invalidate the law on December 13, 2011, claiming the law violates the constitutional guarantee of equal protection under the law.[80]

Given how much of a punching bag the GOP has become over the past 4 to 8 years, I really think a major factor in the next GOP presidential primary is a candidates ability to take on the Dems and media and win. Conservative voters, in my opinion, are tired of politicians who can say all the right things on “conservative” issues only to cave in or be defeated when it comes time to vote. So even moreso than being “right” on every issue, a proven ability to win will be a big factor. That is why Walker does well. That also is why Christie does well despite his positions on some issues.

Anyone but that sell out hack Rubio. Did you hear his double talking butt on Rush? I don’t see anyone on the horizon I would want to vote for.

It’s both......just remember that Walker, while doing great things here in Wisconsin, does not have a college degree. Palin was chastized for her ‘lesser’ degree. I can only imagine the field day the elites will have with Walker’s lack of a degree. I’m not saying it matters one way or the other...but the media will kick his ass on this one.

Yeah! Especially since those in the media mostly have exalted degrees in Journalism.

Have any of you seen a journalist who can spell?

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker>>>>

Very high IQ just going by I never hear him make a verbal misstep and I have heard him many times. Plus he is well versed in the slimy ways of the lib media. No deer in the headlight (Mitt Romney style) from him

Jeb Bush must have the huge Bush fund raising machine behind him, propping him up. Other than that he is incapable and not too bright. The runt of the litter thinks he has an “in” with the changing electorate due to his Mexican wife

About right: I just sent Walker my 2nd contribution in six months. (From out-of-state, BTW...)

From the article:

"If Walker were to become the Republican presidential nominee, Democrats will have helped it happen." That's because they drove the recent losing recall effort out of anger Walker was cracking down on public unions."

Good quote to keep in mind:

When your enemy is making mistakes...don't stop them!

I like Walker and I admire him for taking on the unions. I gave some of what little money I have for political contributions to his recall fight.

The only problem with Walker attaining higher office is that Rancid Pubis will be riding on his coattails.

Although I do have a college degree I readily remind people that some of the most successful people have not had one nor needed one. Especially with what they teach these days, may be better off.
