Boy Scouts propose lifting ban on gays, but only for youth

The Boy Scouts of America on Friday moved to partially lift its long-standing ban on gays, with a decision that would allow openly gay youth members but continue to bar gay adults in one of the largest youth serving organizations in America. If the resolution is approved in a nationwide vote in May, "no youth may be denied membership in the Boy Scouts of America on the basis of sexual orientation or preference alone," Deron Smith, the organization´s spokesman, told Reuters. The report found religious groups linked to the Scouts were concerned with homosexual adult leaders not with youth

“Billy. This is your openly gay troop mate Reginald. You’ll be bunking with him during next weekend’s camping trip. Did you pack your vaseline?”

Think of all the new merit badges...

Can anyone offer names of organizations where normal kids who don’t want political indoctrination and correctness can go?

May as well.

They’re done.

Only Leftists will send their boys to the boy scouts any more. In fact, Leftists really haven’t participated much in the Scouts, but this might give them a reason to put their children at risk in even another situation other than the gummint schools.

I was afraid of this. A couple of real buggers got in at the top, and were determined to do this.

One step at a time—of course.

One of my grandsons made Eagle Scout last year, and his younger brother is working on doing the same.

Now what?

That’s all they gotta’ do to totally lose all my support. I’ll never speak nice of them again. If they give in to these sodomites, then may they all go to hell.

May I suggest parents look at other Scouting type organizations that are sponsored by churches? There are things like Awana, Royal Rangers, Royal Ambassadors, etc...

This policy is not going to satisfy anyone. It is not enough for the homosexual agenda pushers and it is too much for the family values people.

It will end the Boy Scouts as an organization. This is suicide.

Everyone wants to walk away but that is what they want us all to do!

We should stay in it and fight. Get good people to run the show at the top and reverse this crap. Do what they do, infiltrate and gradually change the org from within.

notice how the homostapo does not set up their own boy scout group but instead want others to change their views to accept them

The inclusion of homosexuals in scouting has resulted in allegations of molestation and an acceleration in the decline of Canadian Scouting. No sane parent would let their son participate in such an organization. This is an excerpt from 2010 on the demise of Scouting in Canada. Canada’s population is now almost double what it was in 1965, so the drop as a percentage of population is even more stark than the numbers indicate:

“Like its female-only counterpart, Girl Guides of Canada, Scouts Canada has been losing members for decades. As of this week, the organization had 75,999 youths registered in its programs, down 73 per cent from its peak of 286,414 in 1965. Last year, in an action plan drawn up by the Scouts Canada chief commissioner’s task force, the organization was presented with an unpleasant fact: If membership continues to decline at the average annual rate it has since 1997, Scouts Canada will be out of members by 2017.”

Not sure how that would be able to prohibit gay Cub Scouts that are between the ages of 8 and 12 or younger Boy Scouts.

no youth may be denied membership in the Boy Scouts of America on the basis of sexual orientation or preference alone . . ."

I think it is more like a loophole, properly applied, to say "We didn't boot you out of the B.S.A. because of your sexual orientation or preference, but because you were a pervert who disrupted the harmony of our group."

Give the B.S.A. credit for having to walk a tightrope here. Without some such statement, they could be facing a slow death by 1000 lawsuits by the emboldened gay mafia. With it, a "gay" scout is going to have to behave. How likely do you think that is to happen?

It was never about gay boys into scouting anyway. It has always been about giving gay adults access to boys. This is going to frustrate the gay mafia to no end.

I took over leadership of my son’s cub pack about two weeks ago. About a week before, a gay dad applied to get their son in the troop. The kid is 7. I didn’t realize, but the dad also put in an adult application. I went to the scout shop this morning to hand in all the applications I had, and I realized the dad’s wasn’t in there. I was told that they couldn’t accept it, but that they could accept the boys. We aren’t affiliated to a church, so I am not comfortable “banning” people. I do think the boy should not be prevented from joining. However, I don’t know how I feel about having the dad be part of the troop. Little annoyed with the previous scout master...flaming liberal...my son is 8, and I haven’t had a talk with him about gays. Was hoping to avoid that conversation for many years. I am glad I didn’t have to make the decision, and that the Boy Scouts won’t accept the dad’s application. However, everything is so loosy goosy, I am sure that he will be around helping out. This is not a theoritical discussion!

That’s very disconcerting. When I think back to all the overnight outings we had with adult male leaders, there would have been unlimited opportunity for some homosexual predator to engage in abuse. Parents let their sons participate in these outings because of a then universal belief that the leaders, who were invariably fathers of some of the boys, were not in any way attracted to boys. The stories of abuse have been revealed in Canada and everyone is tying themselves in knots trying to explain that it has nothing to do with homosexuality. Meanwhile, parents are voting with their feet and Scouts Canada is dying.

There is no such thing as a “Gay Cub Scout.” There are only little boys who have been abused by adult perverts.
