As police continue to search Boston for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the 19-year-old believed to be partly responsible for the Boston Marathon bombings along with his older brother Tamerlan, a key question remains unanswered: What motivated the brothers? Each of them has left possible clues online. Tamerlan, who was killed in a shootout earlier today, appears to have been sympathetic to Islamist radicalism.

Good point. It’s not that either of those names are uncommon among people of the North Caucus. Actually, Tatars, too. Names like Ruslan, Tamerlan, Chinghiz (Ghengis) and Dzhokar are quite common. But to name your kid “Dzhokar” in 1994? That was a political statement of some kind, very probably.

Interesting that the article was written by a Time.com correspondent in Moscow. They can apparently say jihad and terrorist there, but here? Guess I'll just have to call them Jihadis myself.
