Lenin Statue - Seattle, Washington
Roadside America ^ | April 20, 2013 | Staff

Fremont, self-proclaimed "Center of the Universe," is the venue for America's largest statue honoring Lenin.

No, not one of the Beatles, but Vladimir Illych Lenin, hero of the workers, Communism, and the former Soviet Union.

The 16-foot-tall tall bronze originated in Poprad, Czechoslovakia, where it was first erected in 1988. It tumbled along with other heroic (and out of fashion) statues when the Soviets went down in 1989. For a time, the seven-ton Lenin lay face down in the mud at the Poprad dump -- until rescued by American entrepreneur Lewis Carpenter. Carpenter, who admired the artistry, mortgaged his house to buy and transport the statue to Seattle.

Carpenter died in a car accident in 1994. To recover the statue debt, Carpenter's family arranged to loan it to the Fremont district until a buyer emerged. Asking price: $150,000. In 1995, Fremont put the statue up in the center of town, near a Cold War era rocket also displayed as public art.

The statue was controversial and remains so, especially to Russian immigrants. It's as if someone erected a sculpture of a Klansman in the deep South (wait -- someone has), or Chinese Communists sold tickets for a look at Tibetan temples outside Disney World (oh yeah, that too...). Or someone slapped up a statue of Mark David Chapman, assassin of John Lennon, in Strawberry Fields (not so far).

The Iron Curtain might have fallen.

But the left coast stands ready to defend Communism to the bitter (and I do mean bitter) end.

Even here in deep blue Connecticut I see stop signs shot all to hell by my rural friends. Bronze is pretty tough stuff I think it might be instructive to see what effect 9mm, .40S&W, .45 acp and .44mag might have.

Yes I know what you mean. I state it: natural beauty as contrasted with degenerated human beings.

Communism still has a lot of “bitter clingers” clinging to their hammers and sickles. A lot of them live along the coast.

Lenin-—the one who created “Day Care” and forced mothers to abandon the formation of their children’s ‘Worldview” to the State-—so the State could create generations of non-thinking ideologues/drones, Armies of ‘Useful Idiots” who don’t believe in “Rights from God” and just obey the State.

The State becomes “god”-—and we see this godless takeover by Zero and Washington DC Satanists/Marxists-—with his using “Just Law” to force “Pride” in anal sex (flipping Good and Evil and ejecting God) in our military and public Schools-—to corrupt the morality of a nation—because without Virtue—there can be no Justice—no Free Republic.

Promoting Vice, will destroy civil society and the ability to have a “Free” society. Only a virtuous people can have “Rule of Law” and that Law by definition has to promote Virtue ( Justice is a Virtue).

History keeps repeating itself.......we once jumped off that wheel of history with the Founding Fathers——but we are throwing away the concepts of “God-Given Rights” which predate the Constitution (Natural Laws which are Fixed) and replacing it with evil/inferior Satanic/godless ideologies.

It is unconstitutional to promote evil in a “Just” society if we want to remain Just (and free).

In Russia, Lenin has to lurk in the shadows.

“It’s as if someone erected a sculpture of a Klansman in the deep South (wait — someone has)...”

Surprised they pointed it out - maybe the media is improving (LOL).

Your points are just a few of the 45 Goals of Communism read into the Congressional Record in 1961.

Decent Americans should be throwing shoes at this statue, putting ropes around it, and dragging it down. The fact that they do not is telling.

”Sure, Lenin the Man endorsed the use of mass terror against his enemies, created the Soviet Union's secret police, and implemented policies that caused millions of peasant farmers to starve to death. But Lenin the Public Artwork is a beautifully crafted sculpture, and a catalyst for healthy discourse.”

This “collector” was clearly unwell when he mortgaged his home to acquire statuary dedicated to the very man who gave us international terrorism.

Some artwork has no/no place in the public square, no matter how “beautifully crafted.” See: Nazi Crap

An yet, the U of WA refused to erect a statue to one of it’s alums, Pappy Boyington, because he was a war hero.

Lenin killed more people in an hour than Boyington killed in the South Pacific.

What a bunch of asshats.

So, this guy mortgages his house to raise the $$$ to bring a statue of Lenin to Fremont, dies, and his family is now short $$$ and needs to fund-raise?
