President Obama and his national security team met today in the wake of the dramatic arrest Friday night of Dzhokar Tsarnaev, the surviving suspect of the terror attack at the Boston Marathon.
The weekend meeting lasted 90 minutes and was attended by FBI Director Robert Mueller, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, CIA director John Brennan, Attorney General Eric Holder, and other members of the National Security Council, according to a White House statement.
Vice President Joe Biden joined the Situation Room session via teleconference; Biden traveled to Detroit today for an evening fundraiser for the Michigan Democratic Party.
“The President commended the work that was done to pursue justice in the Boston Marathon bombing, and underscored the need to continue gathering intelligence to answer the remaining questions about this terrorist attack going forward,” the White House statement said.
Federal authorities tell ABC News they are planning to invoke a “public safety exception” with Tsarnaev, which allows for them to engage the naturalized U.S. citizen in limited interrogations when there is a threat of danger to the public, without him being read his Miranda rights.
But as the president met with his council today some Republican lawmakers urged the Obama administration to label Tsarnaev an “enemy combatant” as well, a legal status that would put him under the purview of a military commission, rather than a civilian court....

They’ve got to make up a new word/term because Obama and Holder said no more to the Bush “enemy combatant” term.
It’s really ridiculous, it seems laws and rules get made up as they go.
That isn’t rule of law, is it?
We are no longer a nation of laws, it becomes more obvious everyday.

Wonder if he is afraid of Glen Becks promise to go public over background of original “person of interest”, the Saudi national reportedly from Royal Family.
If Glen has something, he was stupid to give them advance notice.

Hope you are right. I have been waiting for years for the “right people” to decide to turn over the rock where Obozo’s “real past” is hidden.

That is exactly what they are saying. Why would we remain "united" with killers and their enablers? Hamas in America (CAIR) has infiltrated the hallowed corridors of American power with money, media and men, but they have not co-opted the American people. We will not go quietly into the night.
They pay lip service and "condemn" the attack, but they promote and advance the very ideology behind the attacks. Why isn't CAIR condemning the ideology that commands mass murder, ethnic cleansing, Islamic Jew-hatred, gender apartheid, creed apartheid? Because they support it.
Their concern is imaginary "anti-Muslim backlash." Our people are killed and they are concerned with anti-jihad backlash. If only.
Look at the groups represented: all Muslim Brotherhood groups whose stated goal is to install a universal caliphate.

CAIR is urging Muslim individuals and Islamic institutions to review advice on security procedures contained in its "Muslim Community Safety Kit."
So nice of the Republican Party to recommend that Obama establish a precedent by which he can deprive US citizens of their Constitutional rights placing them under military law.
That is a term I used a lot lately. I was in the car last light with my wife when the press conference was on. She got made at me when I used a double hand motion along with the phrase. Of course, it was pouring rain and we were going done the highway at 75.
