He's a terrible governor.
He reversed Romney’s EO giving the state police the tools to work with ICE. And he opposed the "Secure Communities" program. He also defended welfare recipients' "right" to buy booze, cigarettes, lottery tickets, electronics, porn, manicures, tattoos and bail with EBT cards when taxpayers here wanted to put a stop to it. Deval's response was that people shouldn't have to "beg" for their benefits.
There's been talk that he has presidential aspirations, and he's certainly arrogant enough to think he has a chance. Maybe that's why he's trying to deny that thanks to liberal policies, Jihadists are in our midst (and are likely also availing themselves of those very versatile EBT cards).

Yeah, he sure sounds like he is trying to over-analyze. Like the bombers might have had some elaborate political plot in mind, of which the bombing was part. WHOM CARES???
Imagine an explosion in a clock store that freezes all the clocks at the same moment. That intrepid sleuth, the MA guv, would look around and ask, “If we only knew what time this happened”.
