'Boston Strong' emerges as rallying cry, from stadiums to tweets (Another silly slogan)
NBC ^ | 4/21/2013 | Lou Dubois

Amid a week of terror in Boston, one common theme of support emerged online and off, locally, across America and around the world: "Boston Strong."

"We are one. We are strong. We are Boston. We are Boston strong," the Red Sox public address announcer said to an eruption of cheers Saturday, as the city came together at the first home game following the tragic events. The crowd honored the fallen and celebrated the heroic, and some, such as slugger David Ortiz, spoke their minds.

That followed a new tradition in the city that started on Wednesday at the Boston Bruins hockey game, with the crowd in each stadium singing the "Star Spangled Banner" loudly and in unison.

Last I checked, Bostonians were cowering in their homes at the order of the police.

If that had happened in Texas then there wouldn't be cowering in the homes, it would have been grab your guns and go get the SOBs.

That whole display at Fenway only means something if we see this through and do what needs to be done. Protect America and to hell with political correctness. Most can’t even call it an act of terrorism, just a tragedy. If we don’t, then that display at Fenway was just platitudes.

Aww, I think it's ok for them to celebrate with spirit in their city after what they endured. In fact I like it.

The London marathon pics made me cry.

There is nothing in the world that Texas can do better. Like they say, “How do you learn someone is from Texas?” “They’ll tell you.”

“Boston Strong” means voting Democrat and electing Barney Frank and the Kennedys - oh and higher taxes.

What particularly merits all this hearty backslapping? The farcical, cringe-worthy way last week played out, hardly anything came out wrapped in glory, from the government to the media to Boston itself.

First responders, maybe. But overall, the events made America look smaller and weaker than ever.

I still remeber the response of Austin Texans to Charles Whitman in the University Tower in 1966. They got their private firearms and kept him effectively pinned down untill he was killed. If you see documentaries of the time you can see the supressive rounds striking near Whitman’s suspected positions. He did no further killing or other significant damage once he was engaged by those civillians, many of whom were WWII combat veterans. The police of the time commended their actions.

Today those folks would probably get arrested by that same department for Police interference or Obstructing Justice.

Oh brother. It is all over the news. Both stories are. Perry is begging the federal government for freebie welfare money for his state he claims can be seceded from the United States. This proves that Texas could never survive without the federal government welfare. I was so disappointed in Perry beginning for free money. Shameful!
