Ever wonder why the people taking cell phone videos of gunfights aren't themselves hit by bullets? Turns out, there's no good explanation other than dumb luck, because according to the laws of physics, they should be totally screwed.

Given how union members shoot, they should be totally screwed.
You just wet your thumb and hold it up and see if it gets blown off!
My take-away from this - Unless you can get 1 mile away easily and quickly, you might as well stay and film the action, because hiding behind the walls of your house won’t protect you at all.

Well, you could always do what the rabbits and snakes do - get flat. Minimize the target.
Years ago, some friends of ours were hosting a teenage girl from Bosnia. They picked her up at the airport on Saturday. The next morning the local news showed the implosion of an old multi-story department store downtown. The Bosnian girl looked around the room and said, “Why would you destroy a perfectly good building. There aren’t even any bullet holes.”
When the company I work for went through one of it’s “cheapness spasms” and quit letting us stay at decent hotels I ended up in a roach trap near the Oakland Airport. There was so much gunfire I slept in the bathtub with the mattress over the top.
Throw water balloons, distract em so those “marksmen” with 30 round magazines can unload some more lead.

The police had no problem dragging them out of their houses and conducting illegal searches.
IR cameras would do the trick. They see through boats.
Here in hurricane country most of the houses are block. I’m pretty confident I’ll be safe inside.
His evaluation now of knowing when to retreat out of a dangerous situation is this: He said he came to the realization that people would watch a film he was risking his life to get, then they would go to the kitchen and get something to eat or go to the bathroom. He decided his life was worth more than that so no more life risking for film.

Pretty pathetic display of law enforcement if you ask me.
