Mary Rose Wilcox is the supervisor who was indicted by a Grand Jury for corruption. Her buddy, the DA, refused to prosecute her.

She was shot by a citizen who disliked that she vote against the express wishes of the population (by referendum) to create a stadium "district" then became a member of that "district" then voted to fund the gross corporate welfare for the Stadium, as I recall.
