I read this and the tune Dandy Don Meredith used to sing on MNF came into my head: "Turn out the Lights, the Party is Over"

Here's a good article.

Right now there are a whole lot of people out there wishing that they had stocked up on ammo when it was much cheaper and much more readily available.

We've acquired a lot. However, we are now very cautious about using it for practice, not knowing how long we won't be able to re-supply.

Has anyone called the ammo manufacturers and asked them to speed up production slightly?

Cheaper Than Dirt in North Fort Worth seems to have plenty, including 9mm. I just purchased 3 boxes (150 rounds) there this afternoon. They’re a bit pricy, $129.80 after taxes. However, the shelves were full.

I am not a wealthy person but after years of metal detecting I managed to get a pretty full safe of silver. I kind of wish I didn’t sell some of it that I have but I think I have enough to get me through if need be. Most of it is in easy denominations like dimes. I cant imagine if things got real bad how a person breaks down a gold coin into something spendable.

I am sure that there are a million scenarios. I just imagine it being easier for me to spend dimes.

look for the government to basically turn everyone into criminals via the millions of laws and regulations and ordinances, and then under that premise simply haul you out of your house at gunpoint and under pretenses, take all your stuff.

a whole damn town of a million people kept itself inside and allowed themselves to be forcedout of their homes at gunpoint like prisoners being taken out of their cells for inspection. whjo the eff is going to stop it?!?

People won’t be doing sports or tourism involving firearms much, and tolerance for crazy fads and prices has its limits. Folks will find other things to do closer to home.

I’m doing ok... I’ll just have to go easy on the target practicing a bit.

Bought bilk and bought early.

A couple weeks ago people here were saying there is ammo but its being bought up as soon as it hits the shelves. Bulkammo. Com has ammo but its really pricey

A bill concerning reloaders for now and all who buy ammunition as a near-future surprise.

Reid bill would require background checks to purchase explosive powders

There is no shortage of ammo. You can go to gunbroker.com and within a few minutes you can buy ten thousand rounds of any type of ammo you want. You will however be gouged to at least twice the normal price. This means the people up the chain are hoarding it while trying to extract the largest possible profit. When this stops working the ammo will be released down the line at normal prices.

Are there any ammo manufacturing start-ups I can invest in? Perhaps Freepers with $ to invest could start our own manufacturing company? Probably too long of a lead time to get production equipment & supplies...with my luck we would miss the “peak” demand.
