State: Marathon bomb suspects’ family received welfare, food stamps

The family of Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the two brothers accused in the Boston Marathon bomb attacks, received food stamps and welfare when the brothers were growing up, according to a letter from the state Department of Transitional Assistance that was obtained by the Globe.

In the letter, sent Thursday to the chairman of the House Post Audit and Oversight Committee, the department outlined the benefits that the brothers had received through their parents, Anzor and Zubeidat, as well as benefits Tamerlan Tsarnaev later received as a member of his wife’s household.

Anzor and Zubeidat received Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, commonly known as food stamps, from October 2002 to November 2004, when Dzhokhar would have been about 8 to 10 years old and Tamerlan 15 to 17. The family also received them from August 2009 to December 2011, according to the letter.

Anzor was also a Transitional Aid to Families with Dependent Children grantee from January 2003 to March 2003, and again from August 2009 to June 2010.

Transitional Aid to Families with Dependent Children is a state and federally funded program that provides cash assistance to families with children and pregnant women, according to the letter. The program is commonly known as welfare.

The Tsarnaev parents were eligible for benefits as legal non-citizen residents with asylum status who met the basic eligibility criteria, which include household income levels and dependent children, according to the letter. The Tsarnaev brothers were both in the country legally.

Tamerlan’s wife, Katherine Russell Tsarnaev, also received food stamps and welfare benefits from September 2011 to November 2012, according to the letter.

Neither Tamerlan, who was 26 when he died last week, nor Dzhokhar, who is 19, ever directly received welfare or food stamps, according to the letter.

His wife during that time was a mother with child without a father living in the household and entitled to ADC benefits.

September 2012: Dzhokhar gets his citizenship. He could then legally buy, possess and travel with long guns. This gave Tamerlan access to the same guns and they could both train with guns. Could they risk possessing or traveling with guns prior to this, if say they were stopped for a traffic infraction and the cop smelled weed? No! Tamerlan wasn’t a citizen.

October 2012: Mom flees the country for native Chechnya rather than show up to court for felony shoplifting chargers. (No, she didn’t offer her hand be chopped off like a pius Muslim might)

November 2012: Tamerlan’s wife flees the State with the child to move back with the parents and takes the welfare/food stamp benefits with her.

Next, younger son Dzhokhar obtained U.S. citizenship. Older son Tamerlan, whose naturalization application was pending, traveled freely between the U.S. and the jihad recruitment zone of Dagestan, Russia, last year before the bombers' gunfight in Watertown, Mass., last week left the Muslim terrorist dead.

Though they had convinced the U.S. that they faced deadly persecution, the Tsarnaevs' parents both returned to their native land and were there when their sons launched last week's terror rampage. Authorities will not reveal any details of the sob stories the Tsarnaevs originally spun to win asylum benefits for the entire family.

The whole thing stinks. And it's an old, familiar stench. Immigration lawyers have been working the system on behalf of asylum con artists for decades. The racketeers coach applicants with phony stories and documents from "chop shops" and game their way through "refugee roulette."

Asylum and refugee claimants are being rubber-stamped at all-time-high rates. Government data analyzed by the nonpartisan TRAC website show that "the odds of an asylum claim being denied in Immigration Court reached an historic low in FY 2012, with only 44.5 percent being turned down.

Many people are asking how the Boston bomber brothers lived lavishly, drove luxury cars, and had leisure time and money to buy and build deadly bombs...with no visible means of support. Monthly welfare check would not suffice---they had to have several other sources of income.

A look at Tamerlan's reading list on Amazon shows he researched forging phony identities---a practice very common in the latino community.

The Texas brothers were a "one-stop shop" for a myriad of fake US documents, including birth certificates, Social Security cards, driver's licenses----for any state in the US------ passports and resident alien cards, said NJ state police.

The Texas brothers turned a NJ hotel room into a business office and were readying a massive cache of fake Social Security cards for delivery to a local NJ identity broker. Officers happened upon two cars bearing Texas plates in a NJ hotel parking lot.

The Texas brothers were followed to a NJ office supply store nearby where they purchased computer supplies. Officers then followed the Texans to a NJ storage facility in Secaucus, NJ, where the Texans loaded several boxes into a car. One of them stood lookout. After a search, police recovered laminating sheets with built-in security features, pages of blank documents waiting for fake names and information, finished documents, computers and software to create the fake IDs.

All told, the haul was worth about $500,000 on the street when sold to "impoverished illegals." Police also recovered $6,000 in cash, which was the first payment from a NJ fake document broker for a shipment of 500 phony Social Security cards. ####
