The mascot is supposed to scare athletic rivals
The university I teach at revamped their mascot a few years ago. It went from something fearsome looking to something warm, fuzzy, and (for all practical purposed) unrecognizable. I think the idea was to come up with a mascot that wouldn’t offend anyone. Given the end result, they might have well made a bowl of mush the mascot.

Clearly you are inciting taking the other team and mashing them into a bowl. Big Sis has been alerted and will be in touch shortly.

Given the end result, they might have well made a bowl of mush the mascot. Your comment reminds me of attending one of my son's football games. My better half and I were taking photos and videos on both sides of the field and on both ends of the field. As I walked outside the end field I got in position to snap some shots facing our team. The fierceness these boys showed toward their opponents was stunning. Something I would not have seen just snapping pictures on the side lines.
Mascots are part of the fight. To take that away I believe is a planned effort to turn us all into sissies. We don't need more cowards.
