At Boston's bombing scene: Catholic priests need not apply

Doctors and nurses were welcome at the bombing scene. Firefighters and police officers were welcome. But Catholic priests, who might have offered the solace of the sacraments, were not.

”Catholics need not apply.” That slogan was familiar in Boston years ago, before Irish and Italian immigrants took over control of the city. Now, after decades of decline in Catholic influence , the attitude has returned. One priest who was barred from Boylston Street remarked that in the past a priest was admitted anywhere. “That’s changed,” he said. “Priests are no longer considered to be emergency responders.”

On September 11, 2001, there were Catholic priests at the staging areas near the World Trade Center, giving absolution to firefighters before they rushed into the doomed building: mass-producing saints!
I didn't realize this; how beautiful (and needed). Things sure have changed indeed.

In fact, the FDNY chaplain, Fr. Mychel Judge, died while tending to a fallen firefighter as the towers came down on him on 9-11-01.

Hopefully that beautiful eight year old boy was not conscious to know what was going on around him.

The evil left have worked out their formula years ago and they just keep using the same modus operandi over and over. It works for them so they keep using it. Woe to those who call good evil and evil good. That is the modus operandi of the left.

Mayor Menino is a typical Mass democrat. He uses his Italian Catholic heritage to get votes but he turns his back on the Church when it tries to carry out its duties. Wasn’t Ted Kennedy the same? Kennedy got lots of votes because of his Irish Catholic heritage knowing that people tend to vote for people like themselves but in his later years he tuned a cold shoulder towards the Church.

Menino let a group of angry homosexuals surround and harass a Christian group meeting in a church to discuss homosexual problems. The police let the homos go into the church harass and abuse the people attending. They also surrounded the outside of the church so that people attending had to make their way through a throng of homosexuals which could have endangerd the physical safety of the church goers. Police keep opposing groups separated so that there is no violence but Menino gave orders to his police to let the homos intimidate the church goers. People could have been punched or even stabbed as they tried to make their way through the mob.

Too sad for words! I remember that Catholic priest that died under the World Trade Center on 9/11 and to think that poor child killed in Boston was a catholic and the priest was not allowed in!!

I do wonder when we’re over the constraints of a mortgage and a job, if our most important work might not be trying to save this country...

unfortunately, some American Catholics have become like some American Jews......

Jews in America like their culture, their nationality, their food, their holidays, their traditions, but they don't follow their religion....they just like to say they're Jewish....

likewise, some American Catholics like their culture, their traditions, their priests, their nuns, and oh how they love to talk about the old days in grammar school with the nuns....they love their Catholic educations and they love their Notre Dame....

but their actual religion?.....not a chance....

Mormons are getting that way too....

its so much easier just to be secular and claim your something else....you know all those rules and commandments are a bit too inconvenient...

Remember the scene in The Longest Day where the Anglican priest
has parachuted along with the troops led by John Wayne, and spends the
extra time looking for his Communion kit? Parachuted with the boys?
What in God’s name has happened to us?

Nothing in God’s name has happened to us. It is in Satans name. Abortion, Homosexual Agenda in the military and our schools, Obama, increasing islamic activity etc. etc.

So sad but so true. Lived there over 15 years ago and saw it then. I have NO friends left from there since the 2008 election, bunch of flippin moonbats.

God bless the soul of little Martin.
