Breaking: Federal Investigators Now Believe a Third Terrorist May Have Been Involved in Boston
Gateway Pundit ^ | April 26, 2013 | Jim Hoft

Megyn Kelly reported Friday that the bombs used in the Boston Marathon attacks had to be detonated via a ‘line of sight’ trigger mechanism. According to federal officials this could mean there was a 3rd bomber or accomplice who may have been involved in the attacks. The range of remote control parts is within at least 250 yards or less. The remote control parts are also NOT a part of Al Qaeda’s Inspire magazine instructions.

Federal investigators now believe a third terrorist could have been involved in the attacks.

Didn’t they say they found the detonation device? It seems like I remember it was damaged... so I wonder why? and if so - and if they supposedly were the ones using it (had to be if they acted alone) - why were they not injured. so many unanswered questions - so little curiosity by the LSM.

From the Daily Mail : "The homemade pressure cooker bombs used in the deadly Boston Marathon explosions were triggered by a remote detonator of the kind used in remote-control toys, U.S. officials have revealed. The officials said investigators found pieces of the remote-control equipment among the debris and were analyzing them."

So if the device exploded somehow at the scene - how were the brothers not injured from this explosion - I assume they were holding the device to trigger it?

They apparently disassembled a remote-control toy and used the remote control along with the receiver taken from the toy to create a detonator that could be detonated from a distance via the remote. How much of a distance and whether or not the remote had to be in line of sight of the receiver has been a subject of debate, but suffice it to say that the operator of the remote was not intending to be very near the device when detonated. Others have raised issues regarding stability of such an improvised device, which would possibly explain some reported injuries of at least one presumed terrorist.

Thanks for clarifying that - so there were two items - a detonator and a remote device that triggered it ....but possibly from line of sight of the bombs? This is all so tangled and complicated......where are the REAL journalists? What would it take to make them get to the bottom of the story NO MATTER who it implicated?

One would think that sweet little boy and all of those people who lost their legs would shake some people up!!!!

I get the impression that too much discussion of the particulars is not encouraged due to concern over copycats. Scavenged RC remote isn’t at all sophisticated in and of itself but it evades a countermeasure which is why it was used, imho. Injuries described, of presumed terrorist as well as victims suggest a directional design, ie shaped. As a result it really was not unsophisticated, despite involving a toy. There was thought and planning on a number of levels. These pitiful dweebs, lovers of American consumer goods and lifestyle, haters of actual Americans themselves, had handlers who knew what they were doing. This was no cobbled together internet-plan contraption.

Not to get to explicit about this, but there are readily available remote control devices that go way beyond those ranges. I am not a bomb maker, nor do I read inspire magazine. But...with a little bit of research, you can figure this stuff out. Clearly these guys are not idiots. Why is anyone surprised they were able to improve on a project in a country with easy access to this stuff.

,we really need to stop thinking these guys are stupid. We need to stop being amazed by what they do. We need to start thinking like them.

I should have said that other blogs have done a fantastic job of picking up on the evidence that I and others have posted. We’re all kind of in the same boat though; because we aren’t the “establishment media” there are large swatches of the country who don’t think we’re credible.

It’s an amazing thing - that TPM Muckraker censored out the critical part of Ken Bennett’s request for a letter of verification - the actual application form - and yet the media all over has reported the story as that yellow journalist presented it AND WOULD NOT EVEN MENTION the entire request after I published it on my blog. And that’s American Thinker, which would publish opinions about the importance of the eligibility issue. I had the documents from Ken Bennett’s own office, after Tom Ballantyne did a FOIA request for me. And yet the FACT of the request and the laws that govern the responses to the request were not considered credible enough to print, by the “respected” media. How do you get more credible than original sources, with provenance easily documented? Tom and Gabor Zolna actually went and photographed Bennett’s letter of verification for me as well. I can’t yet report on that, for strategic reasons, but that is how genuine the information is. Why is that not considered credible enough to report?

The blogs have been great, and are doing the country a great service. I cannot thank them enough, just for being who they are, which is why they do what they do.

The “respected” media, not so much.

The Russians are looking out for us (why). The Obama administration deliberately ignores, downplays or lies about warnings, threats and requests for military assistance. What does Putin know about Obama that we don’t know?

how were the brothers not injured from this explosion - I assume they were holding the device to trigger it?

They were holding the remote control transmitters (e.g., in their pockets). So, they each set down their backpacks, then moseyed a safe distance away, and finally, coordinating via cell phone, pressed their respective remotes about 12 seconds apart.

What the FBI found was fragments of the remote control receivers, which the brothers had removed from model cars and wired to activate detonators (e.g., a broken flashlight bulb with filament intact or, the AQ Chef's favorite, a broken Christmas tree lamp). As for the FBI's analysis, I expect it was pretty much complete when the toy car company contacted them to say they recognized pieces of their product in the published photos. Freepers had also recognized the pieces as model car parts.

With their line of sight nonsense, the conspiracy nuts are trying to make this seem to need more moving parts than are actually present. Conspiracy buffs like moving parts.

I'm not saying he's not injured. Who knows the condition of his ear drums?

I'm just saying, given what the bomb did to his clothes, it's really freaky that he is not injured far more seriously.

No, LOOK at his legs. They appear far more injured than first glance suggests.

Okay – finally lets take a look at @XxJungaxX – Well on the 7th April, a week before the bombing this guy tweeted the following:

Then right after the bombs went off.

So who is "Junes"??

“That guy in the river could have, might be ? all part of their plan ? inquiring minds want to know, and should know and ask questions.”

The guy in the river wasn’t part of any plan. He was a Hindu, not a Muslim, and his only connection to the story is that some armchair internet sleuths mistook him for Dzokhar Tsarniev in the photos that the FBI released. Since we now know that wasn’t him in the photos, there is no connection at all.
